got a browning Abolt

i did a trade and got a browning abolt in 7wsm. its a composite stalker 23in bbl got over 50 once fired brass and half a box of ammo. rcbs fl die and seater. put the nikon on from Loonwulf im still having trouble with my 09 Argentine. this rife is much more power then i need will make a good rainy dad gun. loonwulf and i agreed on about 55 to 56 grains with imr 4350 for about 2750 fps and a 150 make the brass last longer to.id like to see your Abolts and if any of u use the 7mmwsm and what your ammo or loads are.

Won't be back on Molokai to hunt them till Thanksgiving, but my freezer is still pretty well stocked from last year tho.

I bought an A-bolt Medallion in .338 Win Mag back when I was 18 from Siegle's Gun Store in Oakland Ca. I loved the look of that gun, and it was smooth as glass when the action was cycled.

I sold it a few years later when I was broke and needed to pay the rent.

ok hard to tell with a doe i have had axis deer when we went on the russian bore hunt a tigoa pa very good eating. tell the people the 375 cal was first made for target shooting back in the day. do u hunt privet land or is there a parks system there on the island. i need to find a freezer i only have room for one deer here if i was working id get one. most years ill have well over a 100 pounds of salmon and other fish. im about 4.5 hours away from Pulaski on salmon river but dont even have the gas to go there.

Both private and forest reserves, mostly private tho.

It's funny I literally live a mile from the ocean, but I almost never eat fish :S
Buddy of mine is hardcore fisherman right now tho, so he's been giving me alot of tuna. Unfortunately I'm not a huge fan of tuna LOL.

i think the farther away u are from the water the more u want it lol. id love to do a tuna trip one of those 2 or 3 day ones. there is not any hunting here right now except wood chucks most people around here dont want u to shoot them until the $100,000 horse falls in a hole. i may lose my last peace of lank i hunt before the deer season here. the owner is very ill and the oldest sun is anti hunting. i have to look a state land i dont mind it just fees funny almost like u are gonna get in trouble for being there.

Don’t care for tuna much, canned tuna in a casserole, the odor makes me nauseous. I love seafood though.

There are no Axis deer on my land but my BIL has a bunch. Don’t know if it adaptive behavior or not but here in Texas we never see them in daylight. I’ve seen one, it was mid-afternoon and it was running like a bat out of hell. To me Axis tastes much much better than whitetail.

nice little buck what is the weight of them. with we had animals like these here in ny we cant even shot feral hogs. dam i need to move just need work. fresh fish shroud only smell of the water caught in. catching big fish are nice but id rater go on a hunt.

Dawn and dusk primarily for daylight hours, they bed thru most of the day. They are usually pretty active at night.

They like tall grass in mesquite thickets for bedding spots usually......least out here.


My buddy, and his dad both ran Abolts in .300. I watched my buddies dad knock down some impressive shots with those guns. Often at a few hundred yards at night.
It's actually what got me started on liking and wanting one for myself.

Never weighed one but I’d say 100 -175 pounds.
