Got a Leek

OK, while checking out the ammo "supply" at the west side wallywerld in The People's Republik of Lawrence I happened to look in the knife case down the aisle. Hanging there,surrounded by the usual suspect cheapo orange handled psuedo survival guy knives, was a package with Made in USA and the Kershaw logo.
It was/is a Leek 1660CKT and, since I have heard so many good things about them, I decided to spend some of that holiday pay I have coming and get it.
Nicely made and scary sharp right out of the package. I think I have a new EDC

I have a Leek, It's a Snap-On special edition. I love it. It's part of my EDC collection.

It's about all I ever carry for the last 1 1/2 years.

I had some teething problems with mine at first.

But the replacement spring I put in it then is still going strong.

That's one of my favorite Ken Onion designs. I have a Rainbow Leek along with other KO/Kershaws.

Mine too. It's so slim it pretty much is invisible in a pair of dress slacks.

Bought one a while back after a suggestion from ugarguy. It's been a good knife. I bought one for a friend this past Christmas. Only thing that I don't like is it rides too high on the pocket clip (blade tip up). It's thin enough that I keep mine in my back pocket, beside my wallet.

I carry mine for more of a dress up day. Very thin and I like that.

The leek is an excellent blade and that black finish on the Walmart model holds up very well. It is one of my favorites and was my EDC for a long time. My only problem was that it rides high and the clip would allow it to work its way out of my pocket. After it fell out of my pocket twice and I was fortunate enough to find it, I dropped it from my EDC rotation and use it around the house. My current EDC is a Manix 2 translucent.

Put the clip on the henge end and learn how to rotate it into your hand coming out of your pocket.
The clip screws make a perfect grasping surface to pull it out with.

I agree, the clip is almost useless on the small end of the handle.

Mine came with the clip attached to the hinge end. Rides fine for me.

The only thing that would make the Leek a better EDC knife is G10 handles. I had a black one, also bought at Walmart, for years, but I lost it. I really wish they had G10 Leeks.
