Darn this sport (forum?) is addictive. Been going by the local gun shop for a while, BS'ing, putting scopes on other toys, etc and for a while they have had this scoped CZ 527 in .223. I've got a CZ452 LUX (22LR) which is just very very fine and I just kept looking and looking and FINALLY today i thought, sometimes you just gotta say "what the heck"
So i bought it.
Went off to the range right away (being between engagements has advantages) and started shooting it at 50 yards. Sweet. Oh yeah, this thing has a set trigger, so i set it and just starting to get lined up and bang. hey, that's pretty much of a hair trigger. Very very nice, I"m super impressed. Once i finally got the scope dialed in at a 100 yards, i was able to put togeter about a 1.5 inch group, shooting off a bipod (no bench) with cheap PWC ammo. (although i did finally get a dud PWC).

Very impressed, having a lot of fun, went through about 120 rounds, and using my AR-15 as a spotting scope (better scope on it) and thought it looked lonely so put a couple of magazines through that too.

Then, I go home and go to get the oil changed and I"m sitting there waiting thinking Man, my shoulder sure is sore, why is myshoulder sore? (I had a big operation on it about 5 years ago). Is there a storm coming in or something? Finally, it occurs to me why exactly my shoulder is a wee sore. :what:

Just wanted to share, great forum.

:fire: :fire: :fire: SHEER JEALOUSY!!! :fire: :fire: :fire:

I've been after one of those for over a year now, and haven't found any local dealers stocking them. I even put in a special order for one, and after four months, still nothing in sight... I'll have to try harder!

Yellowstone Gateway Sports, Bozeman Montana (also in Livingston Montana), had a couple more
Also had at least 3 of the 452 LUX's sitting there which I read in other forums are hard to get. (the LUX's were marked 209 dollars which is less than i paid for mine at a gun show from another dealer, dang it)

I have both a CZ 527 Lux and a 452 Lux. The 452 with iron sights will outshoot average scoped .22s! The 527 is a fine rifle. I snapped up those CZs right away when I found out what great rifles they are. My local shop is a stocking CZ dealer. Doesn't carry all the CZ pistols, but boy does he carry CZ rifles! Horizon Shooters in Flagstaff, Arizona.

Bozeman, do yourself a favor and stop reading about all the cool guns that are out there. Get out while you can, it's the dark side of the Force, and it WILL suck you in.

Okay, now that my conscience [sp?--that's a tough word] is clear, congrats and welcome.

Preacherman,

Your profile doesn't say where you're located, but I bought a 527 American a couple years ago from Shyda's in Lebanon, PA. They have a great inventory, and very competitive prices. Even with shipping and transfer fee on this end (my FFL charged me $10) it was cheaper than buying locally and paying NY sales tax. Check them out. You'll have to telephone, though. Their web site only handles the outdoor clothing side of the business. Call and ask for the gun shop.

Oh, and BozemanMT, congrats on the new toy. Only quirk I've found is the reverse safety ... forward for safe, etc. Have fun!

SteelyDan wrote Welcome to the Firing Line, Brian. Were you shooting out at Logan?

Yep, that's my local range, was out there yesterday not an hour after buying it. What a great range.

How do you do a "quote" response? I don't see the option.

oh, and it's way too late for being sucked in. I'm moving back to Longmont for another overpaid job (but i'll be back to Montana), and boy is Mom going to be surprised :what: at what I keep unloading out of the truck and unloading and unloading and unloading. (I just tell her I'm going to the range, I don't say with what. :))

Well, let's see- - - -

How do you do a "quote" response? I don't see the option.

Okay - - - from the Post Reply screen, scroll down to find and highlight the material you want to quote. Right click and "copy."

Go up to next box above the reply block, out the the right of the vB Code At far right of the second row is a button for "Quote." Click on this and it brings up a window, "Explorer User Prompt." Paste your copied stuff into that block and click on "OK." This will put the QUOTE annotated stuff as the last stuff on your reply screen.

OR - - -
do open bracket ( [ ) and the word QUOTE and close bracket ( ] ) and cut-and-past the material. Close it with open bracket- forward slash-QUOTE-close bracket.

Mess with it a little and it'll become second nature.

Congrats on your new rifle.

Best,
Johnny
