I sold one of my new M44 sight tools to a gentleman who lives in the UK. It is supposed to ship with three push-bolts, one for firing adjustments, the other two are used if removal of the sight is desired. The longest bolt is a special order, and was backordered from my local supplier, so I had to get it from an online supplier I use. So, of course I sent the gentleman an email explaining the situation, asking him if he wanted it without the longest bolt or if he wanted to wait till the 17th when the ordered bolts arrive. He replied that he would wait, he wouldn't have any ammunition until the end of the month. I asked if it was a case of not having any available, or just not having gone and gotten it, and asked if they could buy a spam can like we can and have it shipped, or what? This is his reply, and it really drives home the freedoms and privileges we have...
Bruce,
Shipped to door would be a dream come true!
We have to get authority from the police force for ammo, each calibre has to be authorised, and we have to prove 'good reason' to hold rifle and ammo, then you have authority to hold a certain amount, in 7.62 I can have in my possession up to 300 rounds at one time, but can only purchase 250 rounds at once.
We have to go with license in hand to a registered firearms dealer, purchase the rounds they will then write on our certs how many we bought and when.
If at renewal time, which is currently every 5 years, we haven't used the calibre enough we then have to prove the need for it!
I have authority for 3 rifles, .223, .22rimmy & 7.62, I can only have 1 of each I also have authority for a .44 long barrel revolver this has to have a 12" barrel and a fixed wrist brace to make overall length 24" minimum, as ordinary hand guns are prohibited here, and rifles are all single shot, apart from the .22rimmy which is allowed to be semi auto.
I can also posses as many shotguns 'within' reason as I like, but pump and semis are restricted to 3 shots, 1 in the breach and 2 in mag.
Enjoy your gun freedom and don't let the govt take it away!
