I need some taller front sight blades for my Dragoons and one of my remingtons.
Anyone know where to find them?

The Right Way
A couple of steps involved and then a few options:
Use either JB Weld or 2-part epoxy putty to build up your existing sights about an 1/8th inch, then take the guns to the range with a fine file or even en emory board. File to correct height for POA at usual range. At this point any competent smith or metalworker can make you a new sight or start from a blank from Brownell's, cut it to the correct height and attach it.
Interesting historical idea that would really personalize your guns and give you a good bright sight picture - Back in the day it was fairly common for blacksmiths and early gunsmiths to cut down small silver coins and attach them for front sights. I've found that if you'll check with a reputable local coin guy, you can get defaced or worn period-correct silver coins (pesos, dimes, sixpence, etc.) for basically the silver cost, fairly cheap. I did this to a pair of Richards-Mason conversions with Mexican Eagle grips and used a small silver Mexican coin to make both front sights. I'm getting ready to do the same thing again to a pair of Longon Gray 1851's. My smith calculates the height of the cut, mills a shallow slot and silver solders them in place. You can also get them pinned and soldered to a small dovetail block and a slot milled in your barrel for windage adjustment, but the cost will be higher.

I found some blanks on the net. I haven't received a reply yet from them.
Are they usually tall enough that they need a little filing?
For example, if these dragoons hit a foot high at the 25, will these blanks make up the difference so that I should end up adjusting the poi up usually?
