Got a Springfield Replacement Walnut M1A Stock...

I had a "Loaded" model M1A that came with one of those black-painted GI fiberglass stocks. Springfield will exchange the stock for a Walnut stock for $60, so I did it. It came today. It is stamped "Boyds" inside the barrel channel. It looks stained, but not an exceptional staining job (looks a little thin in some spots). Came with all the hardware and a "fiberglass" heat shield that looks like muddy brown plastic.

Anyway, I put it on the M1A. wow, this thing is thick. Oversized in the forearm. It looks kinda funny to me. I guess it will be good for when I get it bedded, though...

Is there someone that makes good walnut stocks that look more normal?

Most of them are GI take offs. They also have new stocks but I dont think they are boyds. Merlin.
