Got a new Taurus Tracker in 44mag, and it has really impressed me. Decided to buy another 44mag this hunting season, using the excuse that I'm now hunting prime Grizzley country, and the person who is coming with me doesn't own any pistols larger than a 9mm. Well the Tracker , while it is a medium frame ported pistol, shot 44 specials like they were 38's. WOW I said, and loaded some white box magnums. A sharper recoil, but still manageable. Then the 250gr Noslers, sharp, but still manageable. If I can find a box of Federal castcores before the 15th, I'll try those. Pistol shot POA; accuracy was BETTER than my Redhawk. Friend gets to use the Redhawk. Impressive, yes I was pleasantly surprised. Will also take the bearspray to season ole Griz if he gets too close.

I've been eyeballing a Tracker in 22lr at the local dealer. BIG gun for a .22!

I asked the local dealer about the 44 Mag Tracker for months before it appeared and then I bought the first one I saw, a 4". It is a wonderful handgun with a full range of capabilities from 44 Special cowboy ammo to full bore 44 Mags. I tend to stay in the Keith 44 Special to Silvertips range, but the other extremes are always possible if required. It is a fun gun to shoot and it does not wear me out carrying it like the Super BH does.

I have three of the Trackers, 45 ACP, 357 Mag, and 44 Mag. They all fit the same holsters, and one or more of them will do just about anything I ever want to do with a handgun.

Good shootin'....

I have a 7 shot tracker in 17 hmr. it has the 12 barrel and is stainless.
i have a taurus scope mount and a 2x pistol scope. it seems to be very
accurate. i use an uncle mikes size 13 holster; and carry it on the tractor.
i am concerned with coyotes and calf killing dogs.
cdnn has these for 270. including mount and some rings.

A gent at my club had the .45 acp taurus, it was ported and had about a 4" barrel and a 5 shot cylinder, it used moon or half moon clips to load. It looked nice and had an excellent double action trigger. Very accurate and reasonably priced they are about 1/2 the price of a smith and wesson. I am considering it as my next purchase. He had fired about 5000+ rounds through it and used it for Bowling pin shoots, with no problems.

Here is one for sale http://www.gunsamerica.com/guns/976602933.htm

I think the price is a tad high.
