I just did an inventory and discovered:

I have firearms in 16 different calibers... (So much for the caliber consolidation I tried a few times)
I own 19 different brands (manufacturers)...
The number of revolvers, semi-autos, bolt, pump and break opens seem to be out of balance...
The number of blued, parkerized, stainless and 'shiny ones' needs work...
Sticker fired and hammer fired numbers are unequal...

I best go shopping ;)

As they said in Jaws "we're gonna need a bigger boat..." ----- I'm gonna need a bigger safe!

Hmmmm! You got me wondering. I reload for 19 calibers and that doesn't count 22LR, of course, or eight different muzzle loader calibers. Feng shui isn't a concern. The strength of the floor under the safes and reloading supplies is a concern.

You know, if you hadn't tried your caliber consolidation a few times, things wouldn't be quite so out of balance now and you'd likely already have that bigger safe...

;)

I think I have fairly decent representation, balance, and harmony, at least as far as my handguns go: 36 pistols and revolvers in 11 different calibers from 16 different manufacturers. Semi-autos are more prevalent than revolvers by nearly a 2 to 1 ratio, most likely because of my lifelong fascination with the 1911 pistol.

Long guns on the other hand are much fewer in numbers: 8 rifles in 6 calibers and 5 shotguns in 2 gauges from 12 manufacturers. Will have to work on bringing some additional balance to this side of my collection.

In the active centerfire pistol category I have 9mm, 38/357, 44 mag and 45 with the dies and reloading components for all. Rifles are a little more varied, 6.5x55 Swede,270, 7.62x39,30-06, 32 Winchester Special,44 mag lever action and my 45/70 rifles. Again, dies and components for all.
We do have one old Colt 1903 32acp that was the wife's grandfather's pistol when he was a constable but it is not on the "active" list. We also have an assortment of muzzleloaders but, so far, room for all in the safe.
Not sure if that attains "Feng Shui" but it works for me... ;)

Never seen a sticker fired gun, and I've been fixing them for 35 years.;)

I used to be in the same boat (not a bigger one) as you until I consolidated.

I'm down to 16 manufacturers and 12 calibers/gauges. Trying to streamline it further, but I keep finding deals....

I also have one gun in a caliber I don't stock, and dies and tons of brass for one I don't own a gun for. Been thinking about converting that gun to the other caliber......

Wife and I agreed this weekend that we've definitely outgrown our safe, too. While we're not in as deep as the OP, we've surpassed the 2 dozen mark, with an equal share between handguns and long guns. Now, we have to find a suitable place for a large safe, as our current modest one fills its current space.

You know, the concept of a Feng Shui gun room actually sounds kinda cool; like some sort of gun shrine with waterfalls and skylights :D

^And one of them thar' fancy zen rock and sand gardens. You can relax with it and jam the sand in the breach and muzzle for torture tests.

Obviously you have exceeded natures balance by reloading so many calibers.....should find friend who does not reload so that the Yin balances with the Yang.

Feng shui, my rear! Just completed a partial count. (36) rifle makers in (20) different calibers. (34) pistol makers in (19) different calibers. And lastly, (4) shotgun makers in (3) gauges. I am way past feng shui.

Holy crap....never thought about it but put me down for 23 manufacturers and 25 calibers. And Im proud to note that I still dont have a "fortay" caliber nor a Heckler-Koch!
