Got "Made" today...

A few years ago right after church I'm pretty sure I was 'made'. I inadvertently left my lights on and killed the battery, and was checking things out when the folks parked directly in front of me arrived at their car. The passenger volunteered to help jump-start my car (I had cables), but the driver just stared straight ahead although he was agreeable to get my vehicle running. Said driver spoke very few words to me and NEVER looked straight at me.

I'm reasonably sure that when I was reaching toward the battery terminals, I accidentally exposed my SIG SP2022 in my CrossBreed SuperTuck worn at 8:30 (southpaw here) and the driver saw it.

Since then, I diligently strive not to reach with my left arm such that it could expose my side arm.

I could not be "made" at a church function as in Georgia carry of a handgun or long gun or certain knives at a "Place of worship" is quite illegal even for licensed holders. Only those exempted from weapons carry laws across the board (active or retired police, clerks of the court, federal and state judges, district attorneys, etc. Also, people in the military) are allowed to posses a weapon at a church.

I can't see the logic behind the Georgia law. It would be interesting to have someone research the reasoning behind this law.

Could it be that the lawmakers view a church congregation as a group of passive, easy targets? I'll assure you that if a gunman comes to my church with bad intentions, he may cause some damage, but he will most certainly be neutralized quickly.

If I've ever been "made" it's unknown to me.

As far as someone getting the drop on me, that's utterly nonsensical. If a bad guy/gal or a lunatic discerns that I'm carrying, odds are that he or she will use that information to give me a wide berth rather than target me.

If anyone has actual data to the contrary, I'm listening.

Ok, I'll risk sounding dumb. What the heck does this mean??

Yeah you sound dumb. Just because some random dip**** asks me a question, doesn't mean I am required to answer him/her.

He/she asks me what I'm carrying... Me ignores retard in Walmart and goes about my business

Get it?

No. not really. If you want the rest of us to know what the crap you're talking about, you may want to start using the "Quote message in reply" feature. But hey, as long as you know what you're talking about I guess that's all that counts.

I did not get made but my 9yr old grandson attacked me head down at Christmas and thinks Grampa has a very hard hip.not much give in a 1911.

I don't think I've ever been made. My daughter may have noticed once, she gave me a hug and I think she may have noticed, but she knows I carry and didn't say anything. Last month, my wife and I were in a department store looking at Christmas stuff. A woman was interested in an item on the top shelf and my wife, not thinking, said that I'd reach it for her. I didn't. I made some lame excuse about my leg bothering me and I couldn't stretch. I felt bad but this woman eventually was able to get the thing off the shelf by herself. I discreetly told my wife why I declined to be of assistance.
