I'm surprised that I got it so fast in Florida. Everyone said it would take around 6-8 months but it took me 1 month.

I plan to carry my S&W 637. Anyone have any suggestions on how to better conceal it? I bought a fobus holster for it but it still sticks out a bit. I'd prefer if nobody can tell that I'm carrying because I work in a bad area.

Florida just kicked up the system. Heard that the quickest right now is 11 days, but this is also a state where '4 to 6 weeks' means you have to call and yell at someone after 9.

IME, Fobus holsters are not the best for CC. Find and try on a good beltslide leather holster, or go inside-the-waistband, which won't be quite as comfortable with a revolver.

Try wearing a shirt one size larger so your gun doesn't print. You could pocket carry. The 637 is nice and light for this.

I carry IWB most of the time. This works out well for me. Rides nice and high and close to my body.

Congratulations on your Florida permit. I sent my paperwork in last month for a Florida non reisdent permit. I hope they are quick with mine.

I carry the S&W 637 and placed in a pocket holster (Uncle Mike's #3 is a cheap start), it just disappears in my front pocket. Even my wife occasionally asks if I have my weapon. She caries her 637 in her purse 24/7. Mostly I wear jeans, plenty loose but not just because I wanted to better hide the carry, but because I hate tight clothes. It weighs nothing, I usually forget I have it with me. It is that easy. Hardest thing was getting used to fishing for car keys in my left pocket since I keep nothing but the 637 and holster in my right pocket.

And yes, the pocket holster completely covers the hammer spur and trigger guard and no, I have never had that hammer spur snag on my pocket when drawing the weapon and I did that exercise a lot of times to make sure that was not going to be a problem.

Nice choice on the 637. I have a few larger Glocks but none that I can carry concealed in skimpy dress like we wear in AZ, so I found the 637 to be a weapon I can keep with me 24/7. Zero issues driving, sitting or anything else.

I just got back from a gun shop and I ended up choosing an Uncle Mike's inside the pant holster. I've been carrying for a few hours now with it and it's been pretty comfortable. It does poke a bit when I sit down but it's nothing I can't get used to. I did cut those annoying straps off of it though. Pic:

Same Holster I use for my 340 M&P. Mine didnt come with straps though.

My trick is to clip the holster directly to the waisband on my pants/shorts and then put my belt over the clip. This allows me to tuck the holster down further then clipping onto the belt will allow but it still keeps in snug. Might work for you too.

I also pocket carry sometimes too - real easy with these little things. Most cheap pocket holsters will do the trick.

Grats on the Permit! i know how excited i was to get mine and it only took 2 weeks.Im in Ohio btw.
Id look at any holster thats IWB = Inside The WaistBand
If i can hide a full sized 1911 in mine you should be fine.

Just got my FL permit. 9 days from office visit to my mailbox. Doing the application at the DOA regional offices is really the way to go.

That's the first step .Now get the best training you can find ,it may save your life !!
