Expect the thin barrel to be accurate off the bench but let it cool between shots or groups will open up. This is not a concideration in hunting.

Got to the range tonight and have to say im very pleased with the rifle.
Here is my setup at the bench

Tikka

Nice rifles, I love mine, T-3 lite, .308 blued, with 3x9 Burris in Burris Tactical mounts and Burris rings. I didn't care for the ring set up provided but it's drilled and tapped for other options. Best out of the box trigger also.

Yea i read alot of bad reviews on the stock rings so i never even gave them a chance.

So far i love the trigger. I was also looking at the weatherby vanguarg sII and went with the tikka because the trigger is so much better

Love me Tikka T3's (I have 5 of them). Without a doubt the best value for money rifle on the market (those finns know how to build a rifle). I see you said you liked the trigger of the T3 over the Vanguard S11. We dont have the S11's in the country yet, so what is the trigger like on the S11? Also the triggers are really easy to adjust on the Tikka's. I have most of mine down to around 2 pounds for target and around 2.5-2.8 pounds for hunting.

I would definatly buy another one. The only thing i dont like is the hollow stock. I know its the "lite" model and it saves a bunch of weight but i will be investing in one of the B&C stocks soon

I bought a box of 140gn barnes vortex the other day and put them to the test this morning. My rifle LOVED these rounds.

I just picked up a NIB Tikka 300WSM Hunter for $450 from Gander Mtn. they are not usually know for a great deal but people around here think the WSM's are dying. Havent shot it yet, but I have high expectations. I think I'll ditch those factory rings too though.

As some of you may know, I have a Tikka in 243 Winchester.

One time at the range I saw pieces of clay targets resting on the 200 yard berm. After sighting-in, I decided to shoot at them.

I was hitting them with boring regularity.

I was at Scheels recently. I saw a Tikka in 270 Short Mag. Very tempting!:)

Dang alot of folks on here got the 6.5x55 like me. I think I got the very last one in the nation, because right after I got it in my friend wanted one too, and there were none anywhere. I lucked out it was on clearence and I got a T3 Stainless for $408 shipped! I have been a Savage man for a very long time now, but I fell in love with my Tikka, it simply does not get any better then that.....except for mabey it's Sako big brother :D

While I have all you Sweed owners on hand, I would like to take a quick survay just to make sure I am not totaly crazy. How many of you use your 6.5x55 as your primary hunting rifle and what other rifles do you own? I have an uber high performance 270 short mag, and a 30-06, both Savages, great guns, but I find the 6.5x55 is just a joy to shoot and hunt with. Of course the super slick Tikka platform does not hurt either.

The T3 is my mane hunting rifle with my CZ 6.5 as backup. Both are awesome guns, the Tikka is just easier to pack around.
