hey all, just got 2 new 1851 navy 36 cal BP revolvers. Steel frame by Pietta. I plan on heading to the range in the morning.(sunday). Plan on using 20 grains 3F. I have read the manual and looked up on-line what I could. I just want to know if anyone has any quick pointers to let me know of.I am kinda new to the BP world. Thanks all, Bob

Just be sure the balls are slightly oversized so they shave a ring of lead when they are seated and the caps are tight fitting to prevent chain fires. Have fun!

I assume that when you say you've looked up what you could that includes reading the Black Powder Essentials thread at the top of this forum. If not, that's the best that I can suggest.

Well that was fun, I must say. I just wish I had gotten more then 100 rounds. One thing tho, It sure takes alot more time to clean all the parts. All part of it, and will get some more lead and go back next weekend. Have a good day all, Bob
