What yall think? i get a decent gun?

Congrats. Good looking AR. Bushmasters are good guns. Academy has .223 Monarch for about $7 per box. Its steel cased but good for plinking. Seems to be in stock more often than not these days.

I've been happy with my 20" Bushmaster XM15. But it hates steel cased ammo. I wish Academy would get the Monarch 7.62x39 back in stock. My WASR loves it.

Congrats, the prices here in Abq are around $850. Gunbroker has buy it now prices for $850 + shipping + FFL (probably around another $100). So I guess you paid an OK amount, a little bit high but not bad. Friend of mine bought his in October for $850. Now if only we could get reasonable ammo.

That config (14.5") was the first AR I ever bought and still my shoot-the-crap-outta-it, go-to rifle. It's run 100% even dry (jinx) after prolly 7k rounds now. I actually still shoot it with irons only. It shoots just fine out to 440 yards with Adcom M855 in spite of the short barrel. Looses steam with Wolf 55 gr. .223 at 400 yards, though, but still good enough for a 10" gong at that range. Took my first hog with it as well - 1 M855 to the melon on the run, drt.

Shoot and enjoy!

Hint, might see if someone will let you borrow an H buffer or 9mm buffer to try.

Good rifle. I have two Bushmasters and both have been pretty reliable. I have a 14.5" M4 type and HBAR 20" M16 type.

The only problem I have is the accuracy of the 20" HBAR but I haven't run enough different kinds of ammo through the gun to find the issue yet.

Enjoy your new rifle.

Did you get a good one?

It most certainly looks that way! Looks like it could do with a rubdown to get all the fingerprints off of the thing, but outside of that--welcome to the AR fold!

Good little carbine, I use one just like that as a ranch rifle. I see that avaiabilty and prices are getting better.

congrats, looks great that is the same model that i have the izzy carbine, mine looks alot different with the paintjob and a few add ons, but they are the same base model. i love mine, mine has over 4k rds through it, and still going strong, with nother 500rds+ scheduled for tommorow
