10 years ago, the club I belong to was in serious boonies.

This year, we blew the budget on raising the berms, and they just sent out a $200 additional assessment. They bumped all of them 20 feet higher.

His shooting club used to be in the Country Side, and know it is in Suburbia. Due to this, they just recently raised their berms higher.

There used to be a real nice Izaak Walton shooting facility located in an isolated area to the west of Richmond. In the late 80's, suburbia (and noise complaints) caught up to it and they decided to sell. The location was perfect for a nice upper-middle class housing development and they got top dollar for the property.

The good news is that they wound up in a beautiful new location on 1500 acres along the bank of the Chickahominy river east of Richmond. The bad news is that I still live on the west side of town and it takes me almost an hour to get there. :(

Or... hills of dirt can erode over the years, especially when sending hunks of lead at them at a couple thousand FPS.
