I'm the otherwise happy new owner of a GP100 today but I've noticed one tiny little thing that's bothering me. The gun, when rocked back and forth like a baby, rattles ever so slightly.
I followed manual and it seems everything is in good order in there, nothing's loose. My first thought was my extractor was slightly loose, but nope.
The gun seems perfectly fine and it's really not that much of a rattle, but I've never had a revolver rattle before at all. I had a semiautomatic pistol that rattled but it was because it just did by design, there was nothing wrong with it. Is this normal?
It's a very soft metallic clink. You have to be listening for it, and you have to rock it slightly in your hand to make the noise. I have noticed its absence when the gun is in full lockup.
I'll test fire it Saturday and contact Ruger if there's any problems, but I think I'm just being anal retentive here. I'm used to Smith and Wesson, and they don't make such a noise. Someone please reassure me I just have too many wheelguns...
Other than this, WOW this is a fantastic gun. And this is the trigger I was born to master. That reset is going to take a little getting used to.
