I was thinking in my head H335. Lo and Behold I ended up with H322. This is for .223 loads simply using a standard FMJBT 55 grain either Hornady or Xtreme in a Mini 14. I was really happy with Xterminator but did not see any at LGS so I went for this. I am not going to take it back, it was my mistake. I did go back and get the H335 though so now I have both.

I am guessing this is not a disaster as there is load data printed right there on the bottle for H322 in .223. In fact the loads are similarish if that is a word. H335 takes a couple more grains per load looks like.

Anyone use these Hodgen powders? Any reason I should not be happy with either?

I have used h335 in my 223, 55g sp bullets that my rifle does not like at 1.5moa. It is as accurate with those bullets as imr 8208xbr or RL10 which have given me my best 5 shot groups with that rifle, around .5moa with the right bullets.

It meters great in my hornady powder drop

It won't make much difference, if any, in a Mini 14 with 55 Gr FMJ bullets, even the better ones.

H332 will work fine in 223 Remington as others have said. i have used some and it performed fine. Not my favorite, but I would use H332 if I can't find my favorite.

I've done something similar where I looked at the canister of powder when I got home and it was not what I was intending to buy.

Best bet is to check the label several times before actually laying out the cash.

Best to not get in a hurry when buying powder and primers.:)

When the .222 was the darling of the accuracy game it was H322 that helped the reputation. It's an extremely accurate powder and I'm not sure why it's not also popular in the .223. You might just like it better than H335.

This is why I carry a list of of powders in my wallet. It has all my favorites as well as the ones I want to try.

It's crazy how close some of these numbers are.

Shhhhhhhh! My 335 is dusty since I've found 322. Don't give away my secret haha

Know several people that swear by H322 in the .223, especially for the heavier bullets like the 69 Grain and 77 Grain.

Try it, you might like it.

Go over to the Hogdon Load Data center and you can down load a good bit of data for both powders in 223 , they are " similarish " the H322 should be just as good if not better !

Try it , you might have found something better !

It's terrible stuff, you should get rid of it. ;)

I didn't do any side-by-side testing with the same projectile so I couldn't give you a fair
comparison between H335 and H322 based on my experience.

I can say that H322 metered very nicely.
No complaints with H335 in that regard either.

I ended up with some H322 by a very round-about path,
it wasn't because I was dissatisfied by H335.

I'm currently using a couple of non-canister-grade powders for my .223 Rem reloading
so I'm unlikely to be back to H322 or H335 any time soon :)
(IMR4986 and CF8506). I think of IMR4896 being IMR4895SC if they ever offered as a cannister-grade powder...

Too many powders...too many bullets! No way I'll ever try even half of the combo possibles.

After 8 or 9 bullets and three powders, I've got to saw "kings X". With H-335 in my 55 gr bullet loads and Tac in 62 gr to 69 gr loads...thats enough testing for me.

No, I don't shoot .5 moa groups and never expect to. But maybe I'll have a chance to try that H-322...one day...maybe...:D
