I just handled one of these last night, had never seen one before. I was rather impressed with it. It seemed to have an excellent DA/SA trigger pull and it felt quite nice in the hand.

For the price I am tempted to give one a try but I thought I'd check here if anyone has one and can share their experiences with it.

I'd almost prefer a model with a hammer drop/de-cock function but I was really liking the model I had in my hands.

Thanks for any help!

My review on mine:

Since then I've shot it a bit more, and I still like it. It hasn't become my "favorite" 9mm, but I have a bunch of guns competing for that title.:) I grab it for hiking trips and long car rides without a second though. Still shoots really well. I don't think you'd be disappointed with it, were you to buy it. Mine's certainly not for sale.

One of these days I'll get around to getting the FO front sight that they sell for it, and I think I'll like it even more then.

LGS has couple of those Slovakian rotating barrel guns at closeout for $399 per gun. Good value if you're willing to deal with lack of aftermarket add ons and don't mind taking large monetary hit if you ever decide to sell it. Gun buyers are notorious for not opening up wallets for something they're not familiar or barely heard of.

I have a Grand Power from when STI was importing them. Very good shooting and ultra reliable.

My concern with any such pistols is availability of parts and service if needed and longer term track record. Sometimes saving a few bucks is just not worth it IMO especially for a SD firearm. Just to try out something different or a new range toy? Sure why not if it floats your boat. For me there are too many terrific offerings from well established manufacturers that offer availability of parts at very reasonable prices.

I've got enough other handguns to carry and take to the range, but once in a while I'll come across something that catches my attention and these certainly did. Not possible to own too many firearms. ;)

Also while Grand Powers isn't a household name here in the states, it's hardly a fly by night company and I would add that worries about durability should be eased as the k100 name comes from the prototypes shooting 100,000 rounds without showing any appreciable wear.
