Anti-gravity

Astronauts in space are circumventing the law.

they know they can't do it here so they go to outerspace.

pshhh, do they think we are really that naive, like we wouldn't figure this abomination out!?

Not a good argument for RKBA.
Gravity can't be "outlawed". Guns can.

I thought it helps make the point I first saw in a Ron Paul supporter's sig:

"Guns exist and aren't going away, the question is, will we only allow criminals to have them?" Not gonna bet that I got the quote exactly right.

I find the fact that common household poisonous items also kill more than the criminal use of firearms instructive too. Nobody is up in arms trying to ban the stuff that is poison when misused or require it be sold with locks, or stored in locked cabinets. No rush for laws to hold adults criminally responsible for poisons stored where children can access.

I think when the anti's bring up "for the children" or "if only one life is saved" the real statistics about guns, falls, poison, and swimming pools can really put things into perspective about how ineffective it would actually be in saving lives, and show how they lie and distort to make emotional impact.

The CDC site also clearly shows how they inflate the statistics by including 17-20 year gang bangers as "children" (see: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,113094,00.html)

If you compare the data for "suffocation" with the data for "homicide/firearm," you find that Americans are more likely to die from plastic bags and noxious fumes than they are from gun-toting assailants. It doesn't specify whether "drowning" is a subset of "suffocation," unfortunately.

Little known fact the CDC doesn't publish.
short people are 82% less likely have serious gravity injuries than tall people.

I was outside my house on thursday, slipped on a doormat that had some water underneath. Bruised my ankle, hit the side of my head on the cement wall of my house, fell back, then bounced my head off the cement. After I came to my senses, I limped into the house. Thought I broke my arm, but it's OK. I can believe that gravity can do you in! Darn near killed me!
