Great day at the range!!!

Had a great day at the range!! Met Greg L (from here) for the first time today. we met at the local indoor range. He was kind enough to bring along a few of his firearms for me to try out. All handguns that I had never tried before. Since I am 21 i don't get to shoot handguns too often, which made it even better. Though I have a lot of practice to do if i want to do more than scare the badguy away. but that's OK.

On my way home as a was sitting in traffic i got a phone call that my gun club had finally opened up again. since it was flooded out. So finally i got to shoot my Saiga 7.62X39 that my mom got me for christmas. It was great!! I put 100 rounds of Silver Bear down range. straight out of the box she went thru all the rounds without a burp and i didn't really shoot half bad. Looks like I am going to be spending lots of money at AIMsurplus for my ammo!

Great!!! As I usually say ... with very few exceptions ... any day at the range is a good day.

Good you were able to meet up with a fellow THR member .... I think it is always well satisfying ...... plus I reckon we are mostly well happy to share our pieces so that others can sample them.

Bit like with bikers .... it's good that amongst us shooters there is for the most part some real good cameraderie ... and that's most pleasurable.

It was a nice break from the usual routine. Sorry that I had to run (to make sure that the kids didn't burn the place down (they didn't )), next time we'll find a place where they can be behind us goofing off. Of course once they hit the firing line most of our time will be spent refilling .22 magazines . Maybe next time we can grab some lunch or something. We'll just need to figure out a time when I'm not so pressed for time, sorry.

If you're making an ammo run up to AIM let me know. I have a shopping list but generally don't make it up that far north too often. Much easier to meet you around X if you are willing.

no problem man. it was just fun to shoot some new guns that i hadn't before. i can run up to AIM pretty much anytime it's only like 15 minutes from my house. i won't be going for an amoo run there for awhile. i am going to hit up the next gun show in 2 weeks to see if i can find some of the new polymer coated wolf stuff. i heard it's supposed to be pretty good. but i can run to AIM pretty much anytime i am up home. just shoot me an e-mail with what you need.
