For those of you on the Westside of Portland i have found the best gun shop in the Hillsboro area. Al's is actually north of Forest Grove in Verboort. He has a small but quality selection of new and used guns, I have picked up both a used Glock 23 with night sights in good condition and a slightly used S&W 67 .38 at an excellent price.
He usually has some Glocks, S&W revolvers, a bunch of the very cute Walther G22s, some Rugers, and several various 1911s.
Super friendly guys. Only place I could find that still carries cast lead bullets (Oregon Trail Laser Cast) and a huge selection of powders from Alliant, Winchester, Accurate, and VV.
They even have some pretty decent pricing on ammo. I picked up some .40 S&W JHP from PMC for $13/box of 50.
The other places I have found a good selection of new and used guns and decent customer service are the Gun Broker in Sherwood on Hwy 99W (got a NICE used P245), and Keith's on Hwy 26 in Gresham (new Remington 870 Marine Magnum, new Marlin 1894 .44 mag in Stainless, and a new Ruger MkIII Target in Stainless.
Keith's was one of the few places I have tried to buy Ruger .22 mags where they ACTUALLY check to see if it was the right version to fit my pistol!! Turned out they had a couple for the Mk III (little ledge halfway down the mag for the thumb release and disconnector) but put back several others that were for the Mk II only. they weren't just trying to load up my shopping cart but trying to do the right thing the first time for me. Three home runs in a row.
