The NE Pink Pistols and friends blew through a few hundred rounds and a good sized chunk of change at The Firing Line range in Manchester NH.

High point of the afternoon was when a female former USMC Firearms Instructor took on a male Army National Guard Armorer and wiped the floor with him. 103 to 45 points. (unmodified Taurus .357 at 25 and 15 yards).

We had an absolute brand new to guns friend join us and he's got the bug bad. Started off with a .38 and from the get go was scoring in the 9 ring and only got better. Demanded the date of the next shoot before he went home. :D

My 14 yo son took on Mr. National Guard and Ms. USMC with a .22 bolt action rifle and came in a respectable 2nd. Unlike Mr National Guard, my son doesn't mind being beaten by a girl when she shoots that well!

When we'd run out of ammo and money and had inhaled enough cordite for the day we repaired to a local eatery and (after washing our hands properly) had a damned fine meal with plenty of good conversation.

So, apart from Mr National Guard, who's going to be nursing a greatly bruised ego after getting his posterior kicked by a girl and a 14-yo boy, a great time was had by all.

And me? Well I mostly worked on getting accustomed to my .38 Taurus. It's a short-barrelled hammerless revolver, a great carry piece, but it's taken me some time to get accustomed to it. However at 10 - 15 yards I'm in the 9 ring or better all the time. Not perfect, but good enough to stop a threat if I aim center mass. So to reward myself I rented a full-auto suppressed MP5 and went nuts for a while. And yes, I was good. I shared!

Very good

I like hearing about a family enjoying firearms togather. My Mother was not a big fan of firearms. My Father understood my wanting a 22 and shotgun. He just did not care to shoot. I got through but understand having the family involved in shooting is a better way.

I was very proud of my son. He's been shooting for about 3 years now. Last time we rented the MP5 he was to small to hold it properly, he's grown

In addition to being well-mannered around the adults and still managing to have a good time, his range behavior was exemplary. We had a lot of people and even more guns, but not once did he (or anyone else) do anything close to dumb. Of course he was trained by the USMC (my fiancee, my Sis-in-Law, and another friend of the family) so he's got no excuse not to do it right!
