Can any of you recommend a green dot sight for a revolver, S&W 686 or 66? I'm colorblind and see the green better than red. Thanks.

Well...the only green dot I have is a cheap-o (125$) one UTG® OP3 Micro, Green 4.0 MOA Single Dot, Adaptive Base : Sports & Outdoors (amazon.com) I have it on a pellet pistol...it has not failed in it's role, through many hundreds of rounds.

For more serious business, I would spend 200$ plus for a item with a guarantee.... Trijicon, Holosun, Vortex , Sig or the like.

I have a red dot on a SP101 revolver, a Burris Fastfire that I really do enjoy, as well as RMR style dots on more than a few semi auto's.

None have failed...yet. The green dot does seem to be slightly easier to see, but for me, not really worth the extra cost.

Thanks airfoil. I do plan on spending extra to get better quality. I don't normally go the cheap route.

I have been very pleased with the micro dot optics from Swampfox Optics. I won at least one of every micro dot model they offer and have not had any issues with them. And Swampfox has great customer service if you should ever need it. Yes Swampfox optics are made in China. But I still recommend them over any cheap eBay or Amazon special. You won't get the customer service or warranty with those cheap scopes from eBay or Amazon.

I've seen a couple Swampfox rigs in use at the range...users like 'em. (I always ask shooters about their equipment, I'm kinda a busybody in that regard)

Most everything electronic is made in the Orient...Burris is from Philippines...pretty sure Holo, Sig and Vortex made in China...Trijicon is assembled in the US. It is what it is.
