I am considering a replacement barrel for my TC Renegade. Would like to hear some opinions on the Green Mountain barrels. Thanks for any information, Ron

Green Mountain barrels have an excellent reptuation. About the only complaints I've ever heard is that they don't make what someone needs. Their production schedules and plans are a complete mystery. Well, maybe not that bad, but there are folks out there with some very popular rifles that Green Mountain no longer makes barrels for, and won't say when or if they ever will again.

I guess that's the problem with using an 1830's style steel forge and bellows, a 30 lb sledge hammer, and left over boring and rifling presses/lathes from the civil war whoes replacement parts and bits haven't been made in over a 100 years...

Shux....

Ron,

I have purchased barrels from Green Mountain for my .50 & .45 cal. rifles.

Excellent quality and accuracy.

Highly recommend purchase.

I picked up a GM barrel on Ebay awhile back for my Thompson Hawkins stock and it shoots great, only problem I had is it's a fast twist for sabots, but it's taken a few deer, so I guess I'll keep it. 1st shot at 50yds after I got it was in the black. This was a NIB barrel that had been kept a few years and put up for auction, I got it cheaper than a new Thompson barrel. It came with the Tru Glow sights and they work well also.
