I ordered a Savage 99 stock and forend for gunstocks Inc and just recieved them today. I stated sanding the stock and then notced there is a crack in the reciver end of the stock.:cuss: I am not one for paying for a broken item, and seeing how one item is junk, I don't want the forend either. I emailed gunstocks inc. and they sent me the return policy which states I have to pay to have the stock and forend sent back to him, a 25% (yes 25%! :what: ) restocking fee for the forend, and if he thinks the rear stock has a problem, he will either send me a new one or a refund. Well I want a refund! The real sucky thing is I stated to sand the stock before I noticed the crack in the reciever, so I don't know if he will accept it because it has been altered, and according to the return policy, items must not be altered. I was really excited, but now this has turned into a PITA in a major way. I am beyond pissed. I guess I am partly to blame...I should have stuck with a known company like Boyds :banghead: . Thanks for reading.

After cooling down a bit, I think I will try to just get a replacment rear stock. I don't think it is all that unreasonable to get a replacement for a broken piece considering it was not my fault, but who knows? Will post my situation once I call the man tomarrow.:(

This is why I use Amex for online stuff. They have always been supportive of me and if I don't like what I get I keep my money. End of problem.

Well is seems to be working out oaky...I contacted the company, and they said they will send a replacmnt stock, but only if they find the problem worth correcting. I keep you updated.
