ok, so iv got a llama martial in 38, i havent shot it yet (just picking it up tomorrow but handled it alot over the past few weeks) and i wanted to get another set of larger rubber grips. iv tried a couple at the shop, and they fit almost perfectly, almost... one will work but is a little lose, would need shims, the other is a hogue with the clip thing at the bottom, and the stock pin of the lama isnt in the same place as the s&W K frame the grips are made for. any help? anyone found grips the fit perfect?

*EDIT* ok its not a martial, its a commanche 2 38, i think. its so hard to tell the difference between the 2, it nearly looks like its only the front sight

Probably not a lot of aftermarket grips for the Llama Martial. Your best bet on a budget is modifying grips for another gun, like the S&W K frames. If the only problem there is the pin location, the grips can be drilled to accomodate the pin. If the hole locations overlap, fill the existing hole with plastic wood before drilling. Hogue monogrips generally require removing the grip pin from the frame before installing so that might work. The nylon Hogue grips (not the rubber ones) are easy to reshape

i think the easier one is the pachmyr grips (the ones that need shims) because i dont really need to modify them, plus i like the look and feel better. ill post some pictures tomorrow.

alright, here are the shots of the revolver, with the pachmyr grips, the wiggling was just because i hadnt tightened them enough, so theyr fine :) shoots like a dream with the wood grips, havent shot it with the pachmyrs

Nice, that looks like a fine weapon
My Llama 38 must be a little different because the hogue grips fit fine.

Mine is a Llama Ruby Extra. I really like the accuracy, trigger, and $90 price tag.:)

only $90?? damn! and it looks almost exactly like mine, except mine had a full vented rib and crane shroud

There was a reason for the low price. You would not have recognized it being the same gun that I bought.
It was in pretty bad shape when I saw it in the display case at my LGS. I had to put about 4 hours of elbow grease and some home bluing. You can see the parts I refinished in the picture (nice and shiny). Normally, I don't like to home blue (doesn't last as long), but this thing needed some love, and I needed a project. Really happy how it turned out, and was shocked by it's accuracy.

Sorry bad picture, it does have the vented rib.
One thing I've noticed about the Llama, it does not have oversize chambers. I have to keep my empty brass separate from the ones I shoot in my Rugers. Only about half of my Ruger reloads will fit due to the expansion at the base of the brass. By keeping the brass separate you eliminate the over expansion problem caused by guns with oversize chambers (factory loads fit fine). "Just a little food for thought if you reload" :).
