Grips on certain newer guns for righties vs. lefties.

Having reviewed a Youtube comparison between the PPK and Sig 232, just went to the Sig website.
The Sig 232 depicted had a grip for separated fingers.

Do many newer handguns have grips which appear to be made only for right-handed shooters?

No.
If anything IME older guns are more likely to have thumb shelves/swells for right hand use. Newer guns tend to be much more ambi.

The Sig P232 comes with Hogue wrap around finger groove grips.

Hogue makes those grips for many models of pistols. I don't believe they are designed specifically for right handers or left handers. Sigs do though, have the decocker positioned on the left side of the pistol for use by the thumb of a right handed shooter.

I just looked and I'm failing to see how the grip appears to be made for a right-hander. The only difference I"m seeing between the sides is the clearance cut for the de-cocking lever

I'm failing to see finger-groove grips on my almost new SIG P232 SL either.

I did just go to SIGs website and see they no longer offer those those.

But you can buy the old style grips for $26 bucks.

This kind of grip, with a large thumbrest for a right-handed shooter, is specifically made for right-hand use ...



... but other than clearance cuts for safeties, decocking levers, etc., pistol grips are made to be held by either hand.
