Have any members grounded their beam scales? Some members noted static can be a issue with scales. I'm thinking of grounding my beam scales by way of my electric outlet wiring at my bench. I would mount a grounding bar on the bench to ground two scales. What are your thoughts? Thank you for your consideration.

Why?? Just wash the pan with plain ol' soap and water. Or rub it with a dryer sheet.

I have used an RCBS 505 for over 30 years and have never had any "static cling" with any part of the scale.

My old RCBS is grounded as in turned over and filled with molten wax and spent primers. This improved sensitivity a whole bunch and the indexing to zero is now matched by a tiny dropping of powder from the trickler, with no delays. It also stays zeroed. No need for any wire.

I have them grounded sometimes but I have never noticed any difference one way or the other.

No, air currents though. My reloading room now happens to have the return duct for one of my HVAC units in it, if the blower is running the scales must be enclosed or all bets are off.

I called an acquaintance that works in the electronics industry. He said " do you know what time it is" as he normally doesn't get up until six thirty. He does call late at night for advise on his vehicle repairs. He said grounding probably will help if you have a static issue, but, finding the cause of the issue would be better yet. The concern would be that if the scale is charging a lot then your primer handling equipment may be also. YIKES!
