I took the MP-40 to the range yesterday and experienced some light primer strikes.
Sometimes it happened on the first round of the magazine, other times it happened after several rounds were fired. I was using factory ammo, both S&B and Fiocchi. 115 GR FMJ.
Happened about 6 times in 100 rounds. I reloaded the non firing rounds back into the magazine, and all but one fired the second time.
Could this be due to a dirt buildup or something that would be remedied by a good cleaning?
Should I try to clean the firing pin mechanism?
Any ideas are appreciated...
