Gun addiction cessation idea

Dormancy

I had some health issues, and was forced to sell a large part of my collection to keep myself fed. So on the one hand severe financial crisis can cause this particular addiction to go dormant.

But, I have recently discovered that this particular addiction can lie dormant for at least 5 years, and then spring back full fledged in an instance when you casually walk through the wrong part of the pawn shop. One second I'm looking at airless paint sprayers the next I'm physically drawn to the gun counter and thinking, "I got's to get me one of those!"

That was a month ago, and now I have to have a new gun please help. See list below :D

I have become convinced that I am spending too much money on guns and not enough money on shooting. To help fix this problem i just purchased 6 cases of 5.45x39 and plan to shoot it all up by the end of the year. I will update if the plan is successful.

Why would you want to curb or cure your addiction to guns or buying new guns? There are so many good guns out there in need of an owner -- do yourself a favor and hurry down to your local gunstore and buy one right now! You'll feel better, your gunstore owner will smile and feel better, and your wallet will be lighter, leaving you fewer decisions to worry about.

Where's the downside? :D

Oh, BTW, rimfires will get you started, and even if you never move beyond them, they'll eat you up too!

I went about 5-years without buying a firearm or hardly shooting one but occasionally. It passed, although I will be shooting a lot more if I get a membership at an outdoor range that is very close to my house.

See my post above about dormancy, beware the addiction is always ready to spring! You'll see.

If you've got 50 guns, pull them ALL out and detail clean them. If you only have 25, clean them twice...10, 5 times each, etc, etc. By the time you have finished, you should be in the mood to go do something else for a while. It should help with the shooting too...you won't want to get one dirty or you'll have to clean it. Doing something else will also give your hands time to heal and the stains to wear off.

I'm smack dab in the middle of buying my 'last gun for a while' right now.

I'll let the group know how it goes.

BTW, this doesn't limit my accessory purchases, does it?
