Would I get a ticket or a fine if I was stopped by the OHP while driving to my local gun range (about 18 miles) with my AR15 and say 5 clips of ammo tucked in the gun bag” the bag has slots for 5 clips in the outside)
Terminology is important. I know you meant magazines but you typed "clip". Stripper clips are handled differently than magazines in Ohio and maybe in Oklahoma as well. Until recently, loaded rifle mags in a vehicle were a no-no in Ohio. Stripper clips or en bloc clips were okay though.Would I get a ticket or a fine if I was stopped by the OHP while driving to my local gun range (about 18 miles) with my AR15 and say 5 clips of ammo tucked in the gun bag” the bag has slots for 5 clips in the outside)

1289.13.

Any person convicted of a violation of this section shall be punished as provided in Section 1289.15 of this title.
Any person who is the operator of a vehicle or is a passenger in any vehicle wherein another person who is licensed pursuant to the Oklaho-ma Self-Defense Act to carry a concealed hand-gun and is carrying a concealed handgun or has concealed a handgun or rifle or shotgun in such vehicle shall not be deemed in violation of the provisions of this section provided the licensee is in or near the vehicle.
Maybe, but there's no law in MI against transporting as the op described. In Michigan they would probably be confiscating your gun and writing you a citation.

I have a pickup king cab and it would be behind the seat in the gun case.
Michigan law specifies "unloaded in both barrel and magazine". It does not specify if the magazine would be attached or not. Having an empty magazine attached to the rifle may be of some legal benefit, but the law does not really go into the situation where one has multiple mags for one rifle in the car.
In my area, I expect most cops would be fine as long as you are complying with the spirit of the law, but I've never been pulled over while transporting a rifle to the range to say what questions a cop asks if they find there is a rifle in the car.
A loaded mag right next to the firearm is not considered loaded. A loaded mag in the firearm, but no round chambered is loaded though.
"...50 States, 50 different answers..." Worse than that when you throw in some municipalities.
