Just hit 2,000 rounds through my Beretta 92fs. Was wondering what kind of wear and tear issues should I be looking at. What are some of the milestone as far as rounds shot, should I be looking at certain maintanence on my gun. As far as general care ( clean & oil ) I am diligent.

I'd say that if you haven't done it yet, a detail strip and clean might be due. If it's been functioning well, about the only thing I'd look at would be the extractor, and possibly around the locking block for signs of battering or cracks, and the disconnector for wear ( I've heard of a few going full auto with age )

You may want to change the recoil spring, firing pin spring and maybe the springs in the magazines.

According to most owner's manuals, cleaning and oiling it after every use is all you need to do.

I would agree with JohnBiltz; 2000 rounds isn't all that many rounds to be replacing springs. You might check for any unusual wear and tear but I doubt if you would find any.

I agree with the last two posts, 2k rounds is nothing. As long as you've cleaned and oiled it, it'll be fine.

I think I've read the recoil spring should be replaced between 5,000-10,000 rounds. If this isn't a service weapon that gets dirty every day and you aren't giving it a steady diet of +p's I think it'd be fine until 10k rounds easy.

That's not many rounds. Since you are diligent about cleaning there is no need to do anything else. It would be interesting to see what police forces do in that regard since they have practice often and probably wear out guns faster than most.
