OK so I am a big fan of boresnakes and have 2 of them which cover all the guns I currently own. Will the one for my .380, 9mm, .38, .357 caliber work for my P32 that's on its way? I checked the website and it says to buy a different size one, but I wanted to ask the pros here. Plus I figure some of you have both the P32 and 3AT so you might have tried cleaning the 32 with the same brush or boresnake for your .380.

Thanks

You are taking a chance it will start to go in then get stuck and that wouldn't be good. But, if you are able to get it through it shouldn't hurt anything.

When my 12 gauge is really dirty I run a 10 gauge bore snake through it. It's tough going though.

I accidentally ran my .40 bore brush (not a snake) through my 9mm and it damaged the brush. Nothing like the right tool for the job.

Why didn't you get the P3AT? That's what most people prefer. I actually prefer the P32 also but thought I was the only one ;)

If you attempt such a stunt, make sure you have a reliable backup plan for if (when?) it gets stuck.....I've heard a horror story or two about stuck boresnakes, and I personally wouldn't risk it for 12 bucks....like as has been said, nothing better than the proper tool for the job

Why not get a boresnake for .30-.32 (product #24001)?
That's what I use for my Kel-Tec P32.

The .380-9mm-.38-.357 boresnake is too fat to fit down the barrel of the .32. You could force it through, but it might damage something or get stuck.

I wouldn't worry too much. I doubt your P32 is going to need much cleaning beyond a few patches and some Hoppes #9. The barrel is so short, and nearly all .32acp ammo is jacketed.

The P32 barrel is shorter than my finger, I have no trouble running a patch through on a .30 jag, but I have run a .357/.38/9mm plastic brush through in extreme filth cleanouts (I think that was after testing Wolf HP ammo in a lint-filled gun after 100 rounds of cheapo ball - worst-case reliability testing)

I wouldn't try to drag three feet of boresnake through a three inch barrel too narrow for it, and if I didn't have a .30 boresnake from rifles I wouldn't bother buying a snake just for .32 pistols, in fact the boresnake is silly on the tiny pistol barrel anyway.

If you like the flexibility of a snake and want a universal fit, pick up an Otis cable or two (I have the long fat one, two pistol fat ones and a long skinny one for .22s) and you're set up nicely for anything not leaded up, I use those and jags on a no-handle rod for most of my bore cleaning needs.

I do not use my 9mm brushes or snakes on my P32. I do use the brush from my 7.62mm (.30 cal) rifle. It is a pretty close match.
