Gun Club(s) in Kannapolis/Concord, NC....

Hello everyone, my name is Shannon, I'm new here at THR.

I was just wondering if anyone knows of any existing gun clubs in the Kannapolis/Concord, NC areas.

If there aren't any around, is anyone from that area interested in starting one?

I'd like to meet some fellow gun-nuts for occasional outings, new friendships, and building mass orders for ammunition or reloading supplies.

I used to live in Kannapolis, but now I'm in Brevard. With Charlotte being such a big area, one would think that there would be a club around, especially in the Mint Hill or Mathews area. Good luck!

welcome to thr. the best range that i have ever been too is near kannapolis. it is the rowan county wildlife. my dad is a member there. i love going there not just be cause it is a range but they have everything, and it is lie never never land to me.. anytime i am home on leave i go up that way many times.

the first payment of the membership is expensive but they do that to keep all the people they don't want in there, ie thugs etc. and then it is a $125 a year membership IIRC. not bad at all. but the initial payment covers your first years dues and gets you in the club, it is $500 i do believe.

they have trap, skeet towers, sporting clays, rifle range with many lanes, goes out to 200yds, which they are talking about expanding. they have a bunch of pistol "bunkers" they are individual and you can go in there and do what ever you want and no one will mess with you. i love it and that is my favorite part about it.

also they have all kinds of comp up there too. SASS is there alot, Action pistol, and some IDPA as well, and maybe some others, but those are the ones that i knwo for sure.

btw the pistol bunkers are good size, the ones on the front size are a little smaller, but the ones on the back side are easily 25 by 25yds. there is nothing that i want or need to train on a pistol that i can't do in there.

For a good local forum check out www.carolinashootersforum.com. I am a member of the Charlotte Rifle & Pistol club. We have a private indoor 24 hour handgun range in Stallings (Exit 51 off 485) and a nice outdoor range with a combat range, two 75 yard plinking ranges w/ steel, big 75 yard handgun range, and a big 300 yard rifle range.

You're about an hour away from RWVA in Ramseur. Not good for regular shooting, but if you shoot High Power matches or pop-ups, good for the occasional Saturday visit.

Im interested in this as well. There really arent any good ranges near me. Im just outside of Charlotte though. Concord/Kannapolis arent very far from me though.

I am looking for a place to shoot my weapon

I was looking for a place to shoot my weapon and there are no places where I live. I noticed that Rowan County Wildlife Assocation has a gun range for pistols but if you aren't a member you can't shoot there unless you know a member. I don't know any, and I was wondering what I should do?

I'm a long time member of RCWA and Possum pretty well summed up the amenities but the initiation is 600.00 and dues are 125.00 per year.

I am new to the Kannaplois NC area and just was poking around to find clubs, range, etc. RCWA sounds like a good place to check out. Thanks to the folks who posted the information. Baily Boat I know your offer was to possum but I would not mind taking you up on the chance to go and check it out.It is always nice to be shown around by a long time member.
