Where are they? I did a search on google and most of the forums that came back weren't specifically dealing with guns at all... they just happened to have a few topics where people occasionally talked about it (both pro and anti).

So does anyone know where the anti-gunners equivalent of thehighroad is? I would like to know what the enemy is up to.

Other than Michael Moore's forums(that got closed), I don't know of any.

Due to the fact that gun-control is:

1. based on 'logic' that cannot weather even a subtle attack,

2. championed by people who are motivated by emotional intensity and not interested in debate,

3. an ideology that propagates itself through lies, mis-truths and deceptions,

4. opposed by people eager to debate in any venue available

Their forums do not last long when opened to the public. They all eventually get closed, censored or patrolled in an effort to protect the carefully groomed flock from being exposed to the light.

This is not unlike the whole 'liberal vs. conservative' talk-radio thing that is in the news lately. There's a reason why liberals can't run a talk-radio show where conservative callers are allowed access to the 'talent'.

What GRD said. I've found a number of forums that lean to the left, generally populated by adle-brained nimrods who are incapable of thinking logically.

(A fantastic example of this is the forum on the website for the "Parents' Television Council" www.parentstv.org. I've never seen people who are so wrapped up in saying 'baaaa.')

Even so you would think there would be something. I mean I can find a good, active forum specifically for a car that was only made for 3 years and not that popular! From all the gun control crap I'm always seeing on TV and reading in articles you would think there would be some huge active movement on the internet where they can talk about it.... but I just can't find it if there is! Lots of "pamphlet" sites, but no open discussions. That should indicate a weak movement but somehow they sure have had success in screwing up our rights.

If you want to play in the liberals' sandbox go to democraticunderground.com's justice/public safety forum, aka the "gun dungeon." Be aware that you have to read a number of threads before you can register. Also, it is inadviseable to surf directly to that site from a gun-friendly site. Third, stay way mellow as it is easy to get banned by the truth nazis who fancy themselves "moderators" there.

That will work. Just what I was looking for. I've just read through a few posts so far and some of that bullcrap can really make your blood boil. I'm great at restraint and infiltration though! :)

I will have to check some of these anti- boards out...I keep wondering about thread titles...I mean, here at THR you can pick from things like "Best Shotgun for Home Defense" and "Need Good CCW Leather for a CZ-75"...what are they gonna post about over on the other boards?..."Ten Tips for Compliance When Mugged"???..."How To Hide Your Gun-Mongering Spouse's Evil Toys"???..."Relax - Your Government Will Take Care of You"??? :D

Sheryl Crow's website has a fan fourm. Some people not happy with her war stance have been posting and the regulars are preturbed. Lots of people saying baaaa as well.

I love arguing with the antis, particularly the European ones. Moore shut down his forum for unknown reasons. I do know that there were a lot of complaints that we right wing "trolls" had taken over, and that the fun was gone. I suspect that was a factor, along with his increasingly erratic personal behavior.

There's a HUGE difference between the anti groups and the pro groups. The anti groups, almost without exception, are non-profits who exist primarily to take donations. Go to any website on that side and you'll be hit up for cash. They have no forums because they don't give a rat's behind what you and I think. Like most liberals they are rank elitists. Contrast that with the hundreds of pro-gun forums. Nearly all of them have forums. In fact, many of them like this one and TFL ARE forums.

Another item of note--I have NEVER seen an anti banned from a pro-gun forum. Antis are, in fact, eagerly sought after. They are so fun to pick apart and convert!

We at the High Road and other such sites have the common bond of a love for firearms and freedom. This is a positive thing and a fun thing. Antis have nothing to laugh about or enjoy. Their reason for existence is a negative one, to take away freedom from others. I think it would not only be tough to base a forum on that but also boring. We at least have some fun with what we do. :D

That's true. I think that is why anti-gun forums are so rare. Its not that alot of people aren't anti, its just that it is no fun to be an anti.:p

Being pro is better than being anti because antis just wnat to stop things whereas pros want to do things. What have you accomplished when you are a successful anti? Nothing! You have stopped something from happening but you haven't done anything really. Its weird when you start thinking about it.:scrutiny:

Well, I took a peek at that democratic underground fora, and from what I could tell, the one dealing with crime and guns had been almost completely taken over by pro-2nd amendment folks.

The other sections,my God, do people actually "think" like that? D:

wow, the forums at saneguns.org almost made me want to throw up.......:barf: I think I'll go to the range tomorrow and repent :)

My condolences. How could you stomach it? Prescription anti-nausea medications?

My look or two at that freak show was eye-opening, and stomach wrenching, at least in the main political forum.

I noticed that too. Pro-gunners are a large percentage of it. I even saw some links back to this forum. But still some of the ignorance of others is just.... uh I dunno... heartbreaking?!

The DU is like visiting the Snake Pit

I'm still registered over there and have been for some time. I'm kind of amazed I lasted this long. I want to stay there to track things during elections for the fun of it. After the 2002 Demo-Disaster they closed the board to member only because people started posting "Nyah-Nyah" messages.

It is heartening to go to their archives and read the election postings. By the next day they were all ready to throw themselves off a building, move to Canada etc. Now they all want to move to France! But they are all still there.

They all sound like old Chiang Kai Shek did, about taking mainland China back from Mao. Every year he would make a big speech, "This year we return to the mainland". After the first few years it became a standing joke.

These guys constantly talk about "taking back the illegally stolen White House and the Senate", because "everyone knows GWB killed Paul Wellstone and Paul was going to be the next President in 2004".

These folks make Barbra Streisand look like a right winger. They spend a tremendous amount of time P----ing on each other for supporting one candidate or the other. Anyone that supports Estrada is considered a traitor and the use of foul language is like an Osbornes family film fest. Not a polite place by any means.

Also some very interesting policies, from what I've experienced.

When you post the first couple of times you get a "Welcome" message from the Moderators that mentions your city and name, as in; "We know who you are and we will be watching you". I've been keeping my posts limited to relatively non-controversial issues. If you have less than 1000 posts your point of view and authenticity as a true liberal Democrat is frequently questioned or outright dissed.

I found one guy getting kicked off by a moderator because he had the nerve to suggest that just maybe Bush wasn't evil incarnate and that the Florida election problems weren't a vast consipracy and maybe the Democrats should focus on reviewing their policies instead of playing a blame game all the time. He got dumped after 6 posts.

Dissent or a different opinion, of any kind, is not tolerated. Youmust adhere to a policy that George Bush and his whole family are the epitome of all that is evil and John Ashcroft is the handmaiden of Satan himself. Not too many gun policy discussions, since everyone already knows they are evil and all gun owners only want their children to die, right?

For a bunch of hard core liberals, I just have to say, "Where's the love people?" The most intolerant site I have ever seen.
