The basic idea is good, but the suggestions are perhaps not. I'd love to see someone submit a new bill every session of congress to fix the 1934 NFA and 1968 GCA, to repeal federal "gun free" zones, to facilitate real security improvements in public schools (access control, paid guards, allowing carry by CCW permitted staff, etc.).

Frankly, I think that much of the recent noise about gun control is just a distraction to keep interest away from the illegal immigration bill. Obama got burned pretty badly by the last gun control try, and hes not going to want to go through that again. But if the immigration bill goes through with a broad amnesty there will be lots of shiny new Democrats out there that wouldn't mind gun control.

Benghazi is about to hit the fan. The whistleblowers are coming forward and they have some pretty incriminating info. Remember when Slick Willy started shooting missles at every location Bin Laden was supposed to be at whenever the Lewinsky scandal was breaking? You know Israel bombing Syria and anything else that isn't Benghazi related. Stay tuned. Some heads are going to roll. I am very interested to see who goes to the chopping block b/c Hillary is their darling for the 2016 election and Biden is right behind her. Of course we all know Biden is such a tool that he cant possibly win so they want to save Hillary.
Look for some sacrificial lambs in the State Dept, and CIA to take the fall. Some lower level types, as I doubt they will sacrifice Amb. Rice because she lied for them about the video. She did get passed over for the Sec of State position. They will protect Obie, and Hillary as much as possible.

The funniest thing of the 90% BS is that when the bill was voted out, Obama had the nerve to get on his throne and cry because of "all the lies" that the pro-gun faction had been spreading. Seriously, how could he say that with his face of disgust and anger that has embodied his persona when he talks of gun control? Really, Mr. President? We are the liars? LoL, good one.

The government mandating the ownership of anything is intellectually wrong based on the role and purpose of the government according to the Constitution and the intent of the framers.
If you are a fan of the mandatory insurance that ObamaCare brought you, then perhaps compulsory firearms ownership is right up your alley...but for me, they are both equally wrong. As people who (supposedly) love freedom, we should not even think about wanting to push such a measure.

The laughable part here is that they believe that statistic. The fact of the matter is that if this statistic really WAS an honest statistic, there'd be d*mn little we gun owners could do about anything that the 90% wanted to do.
Talking aobut drinking the Kool-Aid.

First lady Michelle Obama is also speaking out on gun control, saying in an interview with "CBS Sunday Morning," set to air this weekend, that high school students near her family's Chicago home told her after a speech last month on gun violence that “every day they wake up and wonder whether they’re going to make it out of school alive.”
Yeah...I wonder which high school students these were? The ones who are sleeping their way through high school? The ones who are waking up to an extremely bright future (bright because of pupil dilation)? Or are these the ones who wonder if they're going to make it out of school alive because of Chicago's inflated violent crime statistics despite some of the strictest gun control laws in the nation?
Perspective and context. Sometimes they're quite absent in political posturing.
Well, OK...most of the time they're absent.

I think what we are seeing is that the "fence sitters", which we probably should have foreseen, did what they always do, stick with the status quo which is the current level of gun control. I would not expect these same fence sitters to support a change in the other direction either...less gun control. That's their thing...they don't care so they'd just as soon see it left the way it is. These same fence sitters are also peacefully sitting on their balconies or their beaches or their stoops, watching the kids play, probably seldom if ever hearing a violent gun shot and figure, "how bad can it be"? and just letting it alone.

Chief, they keep running with the 90% number. They ran their biased, skewed poll and got the numbers they were looking for and now they are going to do their best to repeat it until it becomes a reality.

Good News - Bad News
The bad news - is the gun control fanatics can always count on getting a lot of the "low information" types all riled up and excited about more gun control after any high profile (thanks media) shooting event. (We can also count on the media to make every shooter a media hero for weeks and weeks.)
The good news - is the "low information" types also have the attention span and focus of a gnat, as in; "OMG Another shooting, people are dying we need more gun control now ... Oooh, look Kim Kardashian has a new show on the E Network, let's watch it. Were you saying something?"
OTOH, Gun owners, both the 5+ million NRA members and a lot of the tens of millions (that are too cheap to pay to join anything), are pretty focused, consistent and politically active. That's why our demonstrations draw thousands and theirs get a couple of dozen, if they're lucky.
This is one of those cases where we're in it for the Constitution and the really long haul and the controllers are in it for short term political victories when they can get them. That's why they dropped gun control like a hot rock for the first 4 years of the Obama reign, until he got safely re-elected.
