I want to know if there is a statistic out of how often an illegially owned submachine gun is used in a crime. I know that registered full autos are almost never used in crime I don't believe removing all the 2nd's regulations would cause a surge in crime. I think it would help people act more civilized. But I have no numbers to see if illegial/smuggled/stolen submachine guns are used often in crimes.

Thanks for any help.

Despite what you hear in rap music, full auto stuff isnt very common with the average gangbanger. When's the last news story you can recall that involved a bad guy opening fire on full auto?

Thanks. I know it's rare. And the link/pdf is very informative (I think I've read it before) but I did not see any hard numbers of nation wide machine guns used crime. Only a 1% in Miami and none in minneaplois and less than 1% in detroit.

I Know only 1 or 2 legal machineguns have ever been used in crimes. But I want to know a hard fact like;

in 2000 only XX illegal machine guns (not "assault weapons") were used in crime accounting for XX% of all guns used in crimes.

Cmon now!! Everyone knows that full-auto is played out in hip-hop. If you want to be down, you bettuh have a Glock or the might Desert Eagle!! :p

I'm no expert but I'd think the BATF or FBI could point you in the right direction. I think the real question is, do departments really keep track of the types of guns used in a crime and if so, do they share those stats.
