Gun from the movie Assassins?

Okay, this is a question from the wife. In the movie Assassins with Stallone and Banderas (One of the wife's favorites, I'll let you guess why), at the beginning of the movie Banderas has some kind of pistol with a carbine kit on it. Does anyone have any idea what it is, or if it's even real?

Looks like a Claridge "Hi-Tech" carbine from the ventilated guard and forearm.

Claridge offered all steel "assault pistols" and a carbine back in the late 1980's and early 1990's.

Somewhere around here I have a copy of the catalog from Claridge - neat little guns that were based on the Gonz design after Claridge bought the rights or some such.

I really lusted after the short barrelled model with the threaded end, they offered two different finned barrel extensions that looked like something out of Flash Gordon or Forbidden Planet.

I believe the shorty pistol also made appearances in Total Recall and Planet of the Apes (the Tim Burton version.)

Both are close, but I would almost swear the pistol being modified is a Hi-point. Wish I could find a better pic. Still, I'm amazed at how fast you guys are.
