Got this in a few days ago and finally got around to taking a few pictures. It's a CZ75b, 9mm with the Satin Nickel finish. I love it!

I acquired this EAA EZ9 (4th generation CZ99, different company from CZ-USA) a month or so ago from CDNN for $299! It's a real shooter and I consider it one of the greatest purchases I've made. (No it's not a sig clone it just looks kind of like a sig)

I got the same cz...my 3 day cooling period ends tomorrow at 11 am and man am i excited!

Ill post some of mine in here too, even though its the same!

You're gonna love it Birdmang.

TXHORNS: It was very difficult to find any GOOD pics of the Satin Nickel anywhere online. The closest i found was a semi-decent picture of one in .40S&W which basically looks the same. I really wanted to see the finish up close though. I ended up going with it based on a satin nickel Tanfoglio I used to own 4 or 5 years ago and remembering that I really liked it on that gun. Once I got this thing out of the box I was stunned. It's VERY nice.

Isn't it fun to spell things out with ammunition?

When you get the time, maybe post a review of that EAA EZ9. I've been tossing around the idea of buying one (what CDNN refers to as an EAA CZ-99) as I'm a firm believer that it's the "sleepers" like these are where the real deals are found.

Very nice!! I love CZ and all the various makes of that style as well. I also have a zastava, mine is the Charles Daly ZDA or the CZ999 Scorpion, I also consider it to be one of the best deals i have gotten, and it has not had a malfunction of any kind in several hundred rounds.Good taste:D

Snowdog I posted a light review on it already on TFL's forums. I got so much gun snobbery in that thread though that I just kind of never posted a full review.

The gist of it is that in around 500 rounds so far, not a single malfunction. Feels just like a Sig 226. Same basic size and shape. Very little felt recoil in 9mm. To me it feels like a work gun. It's something you can depend on basically forever. It's not flashy but I can't fault it for reliability. I put a lot of junk ammo through it and a few nice hollow points and it fed them all just the same.

The negatives are basically that the finish on the frame will wear off if you use certain powerful solvents. The slide is fine though. Point of aim on mine was off to the left by about 4 inches at 10 yards but once I realized my rear site wasn't centered, fixed it with a brass drift and it shot dead on. I'd call it sig 226 accuracy. It's not a competitive tack driver but I was getting 4 inch groups at 25yards on a windy day where the target kept flopping around. That was using a table but not a proper rest.
The other main negative is aftermarket. As of right now you have to like the 3 dot sights on it because there isn't really an aftermarket set that will fit without some major gunsmith work. H&K USP compact and full-size .45 holsters fit VERY well. It doesn't fit sig 226 holsters well because it has all ambi controls unlike the sig.

So, more features than the 226. Just as reliable in my opinion. Shoots on par with the sig 226.
No aftermarket sights for it. Harder to find a holster that fits. Frame finish is weak.

Compared to the cost of a Sig it makes me feel like Sig is ripping us off.

Thanks for that informative review, Smoke!

Sorry to hear about the solvent/finish issue. I have a CD Hi-Power that might prove to be the same way (a smooth blued slide with a "rougher" blue on the frame). Though I did have to send my HP back to CD twice to address an extraction issue, the hundreds of rounds fired since, many being JHP and cast truncated cone reloads, has proved it absolutely reliable as most of these quality-yet-inexpensive handguns tend to be.
Heck, the only 1911 that I’ve ever owned that will reliably feed 200gr SWCs is my RIA. My Kimber occasionally objects to this same fodder.

The snobbery you spoke of, though exasperating due to the typical willful ignorance, is ultimately a good thing as it keeps the price of these sleepers down for those of us who actually recognize the incredible value they tend to be.

I’m currently pricing around for an IAC 982 (an 870 look-alike made by Norinco) that many may turn their noses up at. However, from what I’ve read, they’ve proven to be tough and reliable despite their incredibly agreeable price.

Snowdog: funny you should mention the 982! I just picked up the NEF/H&R Pardner Protector from Academy during a sale for $169. I haven't shot it yet. Just got it this week. My intention was to get a Maverick 88 but when I checked them out side by side there was NO contest. The 88 felt cheap the Protector felt like an 870! I honestly couldn't tell the difference quality wise. In my opinion without shooting it yet, I'd venture to say the quality is possibly better than the new 870's. Can't wait to test it out.

I just picked mine up! Cleaned and inspected it! Its beautiful!

WIth only one round in the magazine it wouldn't feed right, is this normal?

Do most handguns come with a sheet like this?

man, all these guys on here posting photos of their CZ-75b's are really making me want to just go out and buy one already.

It looks nice with that finish though.

I will have pictures of mine soon...even though its the same as the OP haha, but I still should share.

What are some good holsters/grips for this pistol?

I have gorilla palms and this still feels a little to thin for me.

I'm glad you said that so I didn't have to.

Smoke63b, if you don't mind, in the future, please spell out all names in their entirety. That's Ceska Zbrojovka. :) Unfortunately, I doubt you can find enough 9mm ammo these days to spell out all that.

Mine's in the OD green finish and it doesn't hold a candle to that satin nickel.

Birdmang for some excellent holsters go here: http://www.czforumsite.info/index.php?board=51.0

Check out the reviews on Hazel Leather. He's a forum member there and makes custom holsters mostly for CZ's. His price is around $65 bucks for CUSTOM leather holsters which is insanely cheap. His turn around time is about 3 to 5 weeks from the day you place your order and you don't pay till he started making it. Excellent deal and you won't find faster turn around time right now for leather holsters.

He's also a really nice guy. Here's his little website.

Hah. I thought about it but I would run out of room. I actually have about 1600 rounds of 9mm on hand  The Wally World here is continuously stocked it seems.

I am 61 and from the old school and have noted some terms in the past few years I am not familiar. I note the thresd is titled "Gun Porn". Help this old timer and define that please. Thanks, Byron
