Gun in car/NYState

I tried packing .org and they didn't say...is it legal to keep my gun in the car when I'm not in it?

Do you have a CCW permit? If you don't then the only time the gun should be in the car is if you are transporting it. ie: to and from range etc. The gun also has to be locked, unloaded w/ the ammo separately stored.

Yes,I have an unrestricted permit.

like previous poster said just don't bring into NYC
