hey everybody, so i searched and searched and could not find the answer to my question.. So im gonna post here

IT is my understanding, that some businesses do not like their employees carrying guns, even if they have a license to carry.

my question is could i legally carry a gun concealed without a license in my family's privately owned business?

because i can do that in my home right?

As hardtarget said it depends on state and local law. In some more restrictive states you must own the business to carry without a permit.

san francisco, california. i know that the city does not issue ccw to anybody. my father owns the business, so since it is private property shouldnt that be ok?

In California the owner of a business may carry open or concealed within the business. The owner may also allow his/her employees to do the same. The city of San Franciscio (and every other city and county in CA) is pre-empted by state law to pass anything more stringent. Doesn't mean they won't try. SF often does try.

It all depends on exactly how the law reads. Because California is such an anti-gun place, I would be especially wary about my interpretation of the law. In Georgia, even if you're not family it's okay as long as the business owner doesn't object. Consult with a local lawyer that has knowledge of gun laws.

Questions like this make me happy. I offer you no help with your answer, but I would like to express appreciation for you trying to push gun rights without breaking any laws. It would be easy to say "its Cali/Chicago/NY City, its too much of a headache, I'll just shoot at the range and shut up."

Good luck!
