I have a colt 25 calibre pistol that says colt automatic on it. I have had it for a long time and would like to trade or sell it and get a bigger gun. Can anyone give me an approximate value for it. It seems good and tight but shows wear, probably from carrying it. it says colt ptfa mfg. hartford ct. usa patented aug 25 1896 april 1897 dec22 1903 jan 25 1910. I would appreciate any help.

BIDDING $101.00

Going going GONE to the highest bidder J-NM.

Email for info where to send gun to and discuss payment.

brust:

The patent dates tell the story.

You have a Colt model 1908 Vest Pocket Model. They were made from 1908 until 1946. If you post the serial number (located on the left side above the trigger - use "xx" for the last two numbers) I can tell you the year it was made. Value depends on originality and condition. Recently I saw one go at auction for $175.00 that was mis-assembled and jammed tight, maybe with broken or missing parts. In excellent condition they command about 400 to 450 bucks. I suspect your pistol is somewhere in the middle.

It sounds like you have a 1908 Hammerless .25 Pocket Pistol ( Vest Pocket ).
Made from 1908 to 1941. Over 400,000 were made. Assuming it's not engraved or has GSP mongramed on it nor has Pearl or Ivory grips, then the value in VG is around 350, in Good 300. BUT, you have one of the best little .25s made and Colt will never make another. Your gun, you can do what ever you like, but once it's sold, it's gone forever. If it was mine I would sell my first born before I got rid of a Colt. Good Luck.

I'm in Florida and willing to buy it, subject to inspection. PM me fo private email address.
