means that the Schaumburg code does not take the place of the Cook County code when it comes to 'assault weapons' and 'assault ammunition'. whatever the hell those are...! So, no, it looks as if you're stuck with whatever stupid Cook County code exists.

I'm not too far down the road from you in Kane County and we don't have any of those crazy rules here. I'm not well versed enough with the CC laws to know what's what and what you can get away with.

Hi, I'm from Cook County and I've studied many of these laws. First of all, the Cook County scary weapon ban only applies to cities and towns inside Cook County which do not have their own system of licensing gunshops. The ban does not apply to Home Rule communities. I know myself because my local gunshop sells AR-15's and high-cap mag's. The law varies between town, so check.
