I Last year I had a stroke as therapy I turned to Leather Craft. I just made a key chain slim jim for a NAA 22 mag black powder gun. I open a store on Etsy, I hope to make stuff you can't find to is fun. Check it out. It took it me 1 hour to type this.

Nice looking holsters, especially the Slim Jim version for the NAA Mini BP gun. Keep up the good work.

My Dear TinPan -

Thank you, I would ship to the UK. I'm just getting started I will look into it.

If you know some one that had a stroke urge they to take up crafts or art. These things use the right side of the brain. Most strokes like mine is on the left side of the brain and the damage like mine is in the pre motor cortex. So the right side to pick up the slack for the left.

Thank you

That is sure beautiful work. I too suffered injury and disability (spinal damage) and took up leather crafting to deal with the issues. There's a wonderful picture book called Packing Iron that showcases antique gun leather mostly from the 1800's that I love to read and gather inspiration from. I won't show any of my creations in this thread. I myself focus on designing and crafting holsters for our beloved black powder guns and custom heavy duty belts to match.
Please don't become frustrated at any limitations you have. That happened to me for a while.Your work is stunningly handsome, and is artwork to be so proud of. I've found that I am at my best when I concentrate on making that which I truly love, and I strive to make those items the best I possibly can. I won't try to be everything to everyone as some seem to wish to do in our craft.
All good things to you. Don S., Bowling Green, KY

Beautiful work. Has a really authentic look to it. I've seen ( and held) a very similar holster owned by Jesse James ( provenance was there), and it looked exactly like the black one.

that naa holster you made I like it but I would like one that can be clipped to a pants pocket left handed can you make something like that?? I have a naa super companion!

Well, I just added your Etsy page to my favorites. I'm relocating to another state in the near future, but once I get settled I'll be in touch with you about one or two holsters. By the pictures, you do excellent work. Congratulations on your choice of endeavor.

You just sold four more holsters! The designs and quality appear stunning. Can't wait to receive them.

WOW! Dtour Thank you! When I called my wife, she a ready saw the already the order. I said aren't you glad I bought all the guns, she didn't not answer?

Corpral agarn I probably at some point. I I'm interesting a period late 1840s to 1870s and the gold rush and the drive west. I lived in Fresno during 90s, for 2 years every weekend I was on hwy 49 looking gold. The stories I was hooked.

Thank You!

If you have not already done so, consider buying a book:

Packing Iron - Gunleather of the Frontier West: by Richard C Rattenbury.

In it you will find superb illustrations and text that cover you're interests in finite detail. (www.amazon.com) will likely have both new and used copies.

Here's a pattern for you Tinpan58,,,

These are "Keyslingers".

slinger-manta.jpg
slinger-frog.jpg

The red-ish ones are manta skin,,,
The orange-ish are frog skin.

The patterns are probably 50 years old,,,
I had to enlarge them just a tad to fit longer modern keys.

They make great motorcycle/lawn tractor/gun safe key holders.

I have attached a .pdf of the patterns,,,
They are great little gift items.

Enjoy.
