I took my relatively new Ruger P95 out along with my 22/45 yesterday. After being a little bummed that I still haven't really warmed up to the P95 yet, I realized I never had that problem with the 22/45. The first time I shot it, I knew it was meant to be, and my love has never wavered. Other .22s may come and go, but I'll never part with the 22/45. The p95 though, I'm mostly just indifferent about. There's nothing it does poorly (aside from weak ejection, which for now I'll attribute to the "buy-whatever-you-can-find" brand of ammo), and there's nothing it excels at. But here's hoping I can grow to love it.

So, my question is, what gun have you fallen in love with at first sight? What gun took you a while to grow into? Have you ever overcome a rough patch with a gun?

I saw a stainless CZ75 on the cover of some gun magazine back in the 1990's. I have been in love ever since.

I usually have to go on a date or two. One with my P95 was all it took. Ditto for my Bersa Thunder, and my Rough Rider revolver. It took a few with my EDC, a Kel-Tec PF9, and it came easier when I dressed her up with a hard-chrome slide.

Most of my others and I have more of a "FWB" relationship..

You have to decide of the "trophy wife" will be a good shot and into guns, or if that just might be a trait you DON'T want your wife to have.......

My S&W 586 was love at first sight. So sad I had to sell it.

My CZ PCR was modest appreciation, but not love. Like a few girlfriends, I had to really get a handful of her before I got attached.

Gun love-Colt Combat Commander customized by Colt's Custom Gun Shop. I saw it a gun distributor's ad in Shotgun News and had to have it. Drove down there one Saturday afternoon and bought it. Has been true love ever since.

Not so much love-Ruger GP-100 that I bought thinking it was an improvement over the Security Six. As much as I loved all the Sixes I had, I never could warm up to the GP-100 and sold it a couple of years later.

I think I was 10 or 11 when I first laid eyes on a Browning High Power. Instant lust. IMO it's one of the most beautiful handguns ever. For some reason I don't have one yet. I want a sho' nuff '60s vintage with the deep blue. The new ones with BBQ paint finish & plastic grips just don't do it for me.

Bought a FEG P90DA because it looked like a BHP & it was DA/SA. Never warmed up to the atrocious trigger & it got sold.

Yeah my Glock 19 picked her up and it was love :D:D:D
Lol I'm a big fan of my Glock 19, but I can't say it was love at first sight. Definitely more of a sense of deep trust that developed as round count increased. I've had guns I fell in love with at first sight, but I never bought any of em. :p The Dan Wesson CCO is up there as one of those. I'd like to get it eventually.

The Hi Power is a thing of beauty. Haven't been fortunate enough to lay my hands on one personally yet.

Good point. This is exactly how I feel about my S&W 642. No infatuation, just a deep platonic bond.

Most my guns have been emotion before function.

Not the Sig P290RS, a face only a mother could love. At first sight I thought..."ugly, blocky, awkward and big (for a micro nine). What I wanted was a P938 or Solo.
Eventually after reading reviews, checking dimensions, considering what features I really wanted and handling it and most everything else several times? I realized it's not as big as it looks.
I bought it, put a lot of ammo through it, have come to trust it and even have an appreciation for it's homely beauty. I love it now.

Love at first sight with every gun I've bought. Then I sometimes realize a particular gun or caliber is not for me .

That is how every relationship starts and ends with every woman I have ever dated too. At this point, the longest relationship I have ever been in, is with a Ruger SP101.

CZ-82 was love at first sight and first shot. Also SIG P239 and P232. And Ruger Single Six with 4 5/8 barrel and fixed sights. (Go figure ...)

I've loved every K-22 I've ever seen.... does that count?

I love to look at my K-22 will Nill grips, but I just can't warm up to shooting it. It seems huge to me.

I think my Glock 26 is kind of homely, but I have the warm fuzzies about its shootability and reliability.

Took a LONG time to shoot my Commander with the same confidence of a full size Government model.
