So, I started a thread on Bore Guides for rifle cleaning and didn't want to hijack it. I know that a lot of people on there said they like bore guides because they can put the cleaning patch in there and then oil the patch and not have a sopping wet oiled patch that spills everywhere.

Well, I found these oil droppers that come with Montana Xtreme cleaning solvents and they work awesome. I don't have a bore guide yet but I use the dipper to put a spot of solvent/oil on the patch and then put the patch onto the jag and then I push it down the bore. No more mess, no more spills. I do use a 60 dram prescription bottle to store the dropper in when not in use.

These are basically like an eye dropper. Just squeeze and then release to suck in the solvent and then squeeze to release it. Very controlled.

Just thought some folks here might like this product. You can by the droppers separately for $4.59.

Are these like an eye dropper?

I use plastic squeeze bottles with a stainless tip, kind of like a needle oiler only a bit bigger. I get them in Amazon. They are very handy as well.

Basically.

Since one dropper comes with each bottle of solvent I haven't bought any separately.

Thank you. I have not tried those. Those would come in handy for a range bag with a closed bottle of solvent and the dropper stowed in a pill bottle as you described. I had one of my oilers pop it’s little top and the bottle got squeezed emptying a couple of ounces of oil into my range bag once. Made a mess.

They're pipettes, available by the hundred on Fleabay.

I prefer Brownell's needle oiler bottles for frequently used fluids, but the pipettes are great for infrequent use.

I use a squeeze bottle also. Works good and I’m sure this would too. I put my oil in a little jar that I think had mustard in it originally. Works nice for dipping a q-tip in.
