Just received a phone call soliciting membership and/or support for the Gun Owners Task Force. They also played a message by Tom Delay.

I asked the man to give me the bottom line and not to bore me with details about gun control, etc., as I am well familiar with all of it. He said that if they could use my name in an upcoming one-page advertisement in "USA Today" that I could become a member and enjoy all the benefits.

I told him that I wanted to check it out, and he gave me the web site address: www.gotf.org so I could contact them when I decided.

It appears to be legitimate, and from what I could tell, there is not set amount for membership- it is a contribution.

Does anyone know about this organization?

    Thanks - Alex

    From the Web site:
Sounds like another attempt to co-opt gun-owners into some sort of party political support organization. Can you spell FUND-RAISING???

Seems like a pretty deceptive "re-elect the GOP" fund raising scam to me.

Yes. I received a call from these clowns also. And they push hard to get a "contribution" from you. After looking over their website, the address to which they reluctantly gave me, it seems nothing more than a RNC fundraising campaign designed to look like a 2nd Amendment movement.
