I recently had the pleasure of installing a brand new bullet trap at a nearby range. Its rated for 50 bmg. I got to fire the first rounds into it, (.44 mag). Thats the extent of my range experience. The golden rule of gun safety is “keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction!” One just needs to know the definition of “safe.” Following this 1 rule can prevent almost 100% off injuries, discounting maybe a ricochet or something. There’s other good safety rules too, keep your action in the open position as soon as your done shooting, thats one of my pet peeves I see people not do a lot.
