Hello all,
I recently moved back to Missouri and am in search of a new favorite local gun store. At Fort Stewart the Beaufort Palmetto State store was about an hour away, but now that I'm back here I don't know where to start looking. I live near Lake of the Ozarks, and the closer the better, but would be willing to go as far as Columbia or Springfield. I read St Louis has some good ones from a thread on here, but that is too far for a spur of the moment trip. Thanks for any input.

I visited a nice gun & archery shop in Osage Beach last winter. Can't remember the name but they do quite a bit of advertising so shouldn't be too hard to find. Even have an onsite indoor range.
I'm about as far north as I can be and still live in MO so I don't have much help.

I know several but can't remember the names of them all. There are probably others.

Columbia-
Powder Horn
Theres one in the strip mall across from the mall (can't remember name)
Tiger Pawn, Family Pawn
Target Masters
Midway USA (order online and pick up there, no guns)

Mexico-
Grafs (they have guns and reloading supplies at the physical location)

Osage Beach-
Pistols Plus

Camdenton-
The hardware store has some guns

Eldon-
Two places, one at a guys house in town open only late afternoon and anothe by the gas station and car wash on Hwy 54

Versailles-
There's a place near downtown, it's in with a surplus/junk type store

Laurie-
There used to be a place on the southern part of town, not sure if it is still there
Power Custom is in the area somewhere

Stover-
Has a gunshow every year

Sedalia-
Pawn shop down town by railroad tracks
Black Dawn Armory east of town on Hwy 50
Vinsons, south of hospital a mile or so in a residential looking neighborhood. Probably my favorite on this list. Huge selection handguns and long guns

Lebanon-
There is one downtown

Boonville-
Pawn shop downtown near the river

Belle-
Place outside of town

Lincoln-
Gunshop on north edge of town

Marshall-
The Gun Store on the south edge of town

I lived in Columbia for quite a while, just moved away this year.

Birdshooter gave a pretty exhaustive list of what's in columbia.

A little input on them though, Target Masters is pretty much just a range. Very, Very small selection on firearms, and all fairly over priced.

Powder horn is great. They have a fairly large, good selection of firearms, reloading equipment, and archery. Really nice guys, and fair prices.

ZK guns is the one in the strip mall. Not a bad little shop. Their inventory was a little short, but last time I was in there they were a newer shop and they said they were bringing a LOT more in.

I wouldn't touch Tiger Pawn with a 38 foot pole.

Family pawn is great. There are two of them in columbia and one in warrensburg. They always have a really good and fairly large selection of firearms. Their prices have always seemed to be ok, but I've also haggled down to what I feel is fair on some others. I've actually bought several firearms from family pawn. Professional guys.

Pistols Plus

I can give a thumbs up to Pistols Plus in Osage Beach. I live in Colorado but we have a condo down there and I always visit Pistols Plus when we are at the lake. I bring a couple of guns with me and use their indoor range. It is a top flight facility and I think it would be well worth a visit.

MoBuck, a little help is better than no help, and I appreciate it. I wonder if you mean Pistols Plus, they advertise a lot. Birdshooter, you gave me a lot more options then I expected, which rocks. Lol. With your list and Big Boys recommendations, I will stop in to the Powder Horn, and ZK to see what they got. Tobenheim, I admit to not ever going into Pistols plus because I haven't heard anything good, but I guess I will have to check it out for myself. Thanks all. You are helping a newbie (or is it noobie) a lot. Lol.

Definitely check out Pistols Plus if you are close. The guns for sale re underwhelming but their "museum" is worth checking out. Lots of cool firearms.

Defiantly check out some of the others when you pass through those areas. You never know what pops up. I have found several good deals just dropping in even if the shop isn't one of what I consider the best.

If you want some more shops over toward Clinton and KC let me know. I travel the area for work quite a bit.

That's the place. They've got a bunch of military guns on display, too.
Question about PowderHorn in Columbia. I hadn't been there for several years but went by while in Columbia for a business meeting. I was short on time but when I got to where I remembered PH being located, I couldn't find it. Have they moved?

Here's two more I forgot about that are close.

Ashland-
Patriot Supply Inc.

Hartsburg-
Ammo Alley (off Hwy 63 just north of Jeff City)

I think there are a couple of places in Jeff but I haven't explored them too much. Have fun checking them all out.

MoBuck

I'm not sure if Powder Horn has moved. They are on Paris Rd north of I-70. You have to cross some railroad tracks on the west side of Paris Rd and then turn right and go to the side of an industrial looking building.

Boggs Creek in Jefferson City. Nice selection, and knowledgable staff.

Xtreme Outdoors in Rhineland. Nice store, plus the drive down hwy. 94 is a good place to check out the fall colors (what color there is this year).

I know powder horns location was a little newer. But I just thought they were a newer shop, maybe they had moved. They are on a main road, but kind of secluded. You have to take a sharp turn off of a busy highway, and that turn has a very steep uphill slope and crosses some train tracks, all in about 5 seconds. Then you drive around to the right side of the building and enter a door with no sign. Looks like your going to walk into some random warehouse.

Looks a bit sketchy on your way in just because it's not signed well, but it's great once inside.

Y'all are makin me homesick.I lived in Warsaw before i moved to TN. Been in a lot of the places birdshooter named.

My son lives in Springfield,I'll ask him what they have down that way if you like.

OOOHh! One I can't believe I forgot about in Columbia. It's called "The Black Rifle".

They mostly specialize in anything AR-15. The whole store is pretty much parts and accessories. Pretty cool place.

They do also always have a wall with some other guns available. Last time I was there they have everything from a brand new Scar 16 to a used mini 14 and Remington 1100. It's kind of like just whatever ends up in the shop.
