As penthouse forum would say" I never thought it would happen to me" 2000 primers for $36.00. Guy said I no longer shoot and you can have them for the price I paid. It must have been in around 1990. Perfect shape, stored in a dry environment. Guy was just walking around with them. Next a Chrony that sold for $90.00 used 3 times $20.00. Holy crap I'm on a roll. Then to top it all off 200 bullets for my sons AK $15.00. Should have stopped on the way home and bought a lotto ticket.

Way to go skidoo I also had a great day yesterday got a Uberti 44 cap and ball with conversion cyl, a box of pyrodex pellets , and a box of 45 lc , for $400. Same guy sold me 45lc for $16 a box. Then I traded around and got a straight stocked 44 Marlin lever gun and another box of 45 lc, ended up with $220 in all of it. Guess the old saying " The sun shines on a dogs ass every once in a while." Still holds true.

I looked for reloading components . There where 2 dealers with a very limited set up charging two prices for everything. No large rifle or pistol primers to be found. I did notice bulk mil ammo is started back down. Got priced a sks for $275 the lowest since The Chosen One took office.

Once got a Garand from a gunsmith/rebuilder for only $600, tax included. And not a welded receiver. Looks and shoots great!

Sometimes the gun gods are kind but sure is a lot of overpriced junk at shows these days. I find it helpful to go late Sunday afternoon and find the guys who look hungry.

Congrats on your dealing.

Tom

Wow - just walked in the door from a show - 1,000 primers - $50!!!!!! They are $30 at the local shop - I have had some good buys in the past on all sorts of things - but nothing today -

Went to the show in Denver this weekend on the way down to my sons football game in Monument.

Guys there are REAL proud of their Varget powder- at $35/pound! I saw one box of WLR primers for $75, sitting proudly up in the very front of the guys table. Other tables had the same primers for $45. I also loved the WWBB bulk pack of .380 auto for $100.

I ended up with a bullet pulling die and collet for a little over $30. Actually could have saved a buck at Sportsman's but wanted to walk out of there with SOMETHING.... :)

We had our fall swap meet at my local range aboout 3 weeks ago.
I came out of the building with 2000 LR primers, 1000 SR primers, 2 lbs of IMR powder, 200 7mm bullets, 450-7.62x51 brass (once fired), 500-.270 win brass, 200 30-06 brass and a bunch of other mixed brass all for $100.00. The old guy that I bought it all from just kept tossing stuff into the box as I was trying to leave.

Nice...Looks like Karma was on your side as well Sniper. You and skidooman both got really great deals. Congrats! You two must have done something good at some point! ;)

+1on the Sunday afternoon strategy . I got a nice set of 9mm rcbs carbide dies for $22.00 . I hope to start seeing some better deals at the shows sometime soon . All of the bullet tables looked as though they paid retail at midway and marked them up 100% .

Geez - I must have been a real....jerk..... in a previous life!

Last show I was at, the vendors were loading up on Sunday afternoon, and I saw a Tasco World Class scope, I believe a 2-7x32 for $93! I've heard good things about them, seen them online around $70. I offered the guy $80, he said $90 was as low as he'd go! His wife and son just looked at him like they were gonna slap the 'shtuff' outta him, so I walked away - Didn't want to see a grown jerk cry...

Wasn't any beef jerky to be had, either!
