Hey i live in Maryland and there is a gun show coming up in April. I have been really trying to find an ak47 at a reasonable price. My first question is do you think they would sell them there (i have never been to a gun show). Also would i pay more there than in a gun store and/or do you know any places online or something used, hoping to find one for around $300

I don't recall ever seeing them for $300 at any of the shows I've been to, but then again I've never really been in the market for one either.

The two places that I remember having deals on surplus rifles are Shooters' Discount in Arbutus (Fellow named Lou) and N.E. Guns (15 N. Main St, North East, MD 21901 - 410-287-6126).

At the last show at the PG Equestrian Center, NE Guns had unissued Yugo sks's for $100. That's the best price I've ever seen in Maryland. They had tables full of other Communist surplus rifles too, so maybe they can get you what you're looking for for a fair price.
 
Just went to a gun show in the last 2 weeks, they have AKs, and I was looking at them because I too am in the market for one. All I have to say is that you will NOT find one for $300 or below. They are all around $370-$450, and with all the negative press and talk of banning, I suspect they will go up in price even more. Gun Show prices are generally higher than finding a good local place to get one if you have the option. This has been my experience anyhow.

Ak In Md !!!

Hi, I don't think you will find a AK variant anywhere in Maryland for $300 . There is that nasty MD state AWB thing and all that ! The price for Evil Black rifles and Handguns in Maryland is much higher than in nearby Wv or Va. Might be able to pick up a Saiga 7.62X39 for $225 or so . ........WVleo
 
Maryland DOES NOT have an AWB regarding rifles. Certain Assault Pistols are banned, but there's pleanty of AK's in Maryland.

Now the pricing does suck compared to our bordering states, but you can't buy a regilated firearm from a bordering state either, so you'd have to pay the ffl transfer fee, plus sales tax, and maybe shipping depending on where the seller is located. I doubt the seller would be willing to drive it to your ffl for you..... :)
 
I just went to a gunshow here (Washington) yesterday I didnt see any ak's there, LOTS of over priced AR 15's and tons of mini 14's. I picked up a tec 9
for $180.00. My local gun shop just tried to sell me an AK-47 for $350.00 but I passed. Same gunshop sells SKS w/ bayonet & moldy ammo pouches still in cosmoline for $149.00 all day.
